In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Chris Thomas comes from a family of veterans, coal miners, and educators, who taught him the value of hard work and service; that’s why, after working construction for many years, Chris became a middle school math and science teacher – it was in that job that he saw firsthand how students, parents, and faculty weren’t getting the support they needed; he realized that there was only so much he could do within the four walls of my classroom. Chris resolved to get involved in local politics and started organizing to elect candidates to local school boards, supervisor boards, and borough councils.

Chris believes that working people deserve a government that puts them first, not wealthy special interests, powerful corporations, or partisan politics. Strong communities are built when people have the opportunity to succeed. That means investing in public education, expanding access to affordable healthcare, taking on Big Tech and data centers, and making sure families can afford to live, work, and raise their children in Pennsylvania.

As someone who comes from a working-class union family, Chris understands that economic growth only matters if it improves people's lives. We can create jobs, grow our economy, and modernize our infrastructure while also protecting our air, water, farmland, and natural resources. Environmental protection and economic opportunity do not need to be competing priorities, they should go hand in hand.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Cost of living issues such as utility prices, banning surveillance pricing, and raising the wage.Education, specifically fairly funding our schools.Healthcare affordability and accessibility, because no one should have to choose between life-saving care and bankruptcy

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

As a former middle school teacher, Chris is passionate about implementing a fair funding model for our public schools. As someone who has stood on the picket line with Pottstown Hospital workers, Chris will advocate for every Pennsylvanian to reasonably access healthcare, fighting to make life more affordable for working families. If elected, Chris would also prioritize raising the minimum wage.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?

I am humbled to be endorsed by over 100 electeds and organizations, including Congresswoman Madeleine Dean, Democratic State Senate Leadership and members, in-district House members, Majority Leader Matt Bradford, State Representatives Joe Ciresi, Joe Webster, and Liz Hanbidge, along with more than 60 county and local elected officials, PA Working Families Party, Climate Cabinet, Lead Locally, Run for Something, States WIN, Progressive Turnout Project, Planned Parenthood, 314 Action, Kennedy Democrats, Transport Workers Union Local 234, UFCW 1776, IBEW #126, Plumbers #690, IUOE Local 542, SEIU, PSEA, Montco CLC, Sprinkler Fitters Local 692, Steamfitters Local 420, Carpenters EAS, Sheet Metal Workers Local #19, and Conservation Voters.
