In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am Christopher Crumby Ford, the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania’s 7th House District. I am a lifelong public servant, community advocate, and proud son of the Shenango Valley. My faith, family, and commitment to serving others have shaped my life and continue to guide my leadership.

I am the son of Terrence Crumby and Donna Ford, the oldest of six siblings, and a proud father to my 17-year-old son, Noah. I also helped raise my 17-year-old goddaughter, Avaya, who courageously beat childhood leukemia. Their strength inspires me every day.

I currently serve on the Sharon City School Board and as Second Vice President of the Mercer County NAACP. As a former union leader and a proud member of the Prince Hall Affiliated Masons and the Twin City Elks, I have dedicated my life to advocating for working families, expanding opportunities for young people, and strengthening our communities.

My decision to run for office is deeply personal. In 2013, my 17-year-old brother, Le’Angelo Crumby Ford, was tragically killed by gun violence. His loss fuels my commitment to building safer communities, creating opportunities for our youth, and supporting families affected by violence.

I am running because District 7 deserves a representative who listens, leads with integrity, and puts people before politics. If elected, I will fight for good-paying jobs, quality education, affordable healthcare, safe neighborhoods, and economic growth while ensuring every resident of District 7 is heard

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Putting Working Families First

Every family deserves the opportunity to succeed. I will fight for good-paying union jobs, workforce development, affordable healthcare, quality public education, and policies that help working people keep more of what they earn. Harrisburg should work for everyday Pennsylvanians—not just special interests.Building Safer, Stronger Communities

Public safety requires more than enforcement—it requires opportunity. I support investing in youth programs, mental health services, violence prevention initiatives, reentry programs, and community partnerships that reduce crime while holding offenders accountable. Every child should grow up in a neighborhood where they feel safe and have a chance to succeed.Honest, Accessible Leadership

I will be a representative who is visible, accessible, and accountable. I’ll hold regular town halls, listen to constituents across District 7, and make decisions based on what’s best for our communities—not political parties or special interests. My commitment is simple: lead with integrity, serve with compassion, and always put the people of District 7 first.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am most passionate about fair housing, criminal justice reform, and creating opportunities for working families. I believe everyone deserves access to safe, affordable housing and a fair chance to build a better life, regardless of their background or ZIP code. I support policies that expand homeownership, revitalize neighborhoods, reduce blight, and increase affordable housing options across Pennsylvania.

I am also committed to meaningful criminal justice reform that promotes accountability while creating real pathways to rehabilitation and successful reentry. Too many people who have paid their debt to society struggle to find housing, employment, and opportunity, increasing the likelihood of reoffending. I believe we can make our comm

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?

I am honored to have earned the endorsement of Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. through the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC) and the Mercer County Democratic Party. I am also proud to be endorsed by former Farrell City Councilman Terrence L. Crumby, Farrell Area School Board member Terrence Harrison, and Farrell City Councilwoman Jessica Talbert-Kirsch. In addition, I am grateful for the support of local elected officials, community leaders, labor advocates, clergy, and residents throughout Pennsylvania’s 7th House District who believe in our vision of putting people before politics and building stronger, safer communities for everyone.
