In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a Registered Nurse, Public Health Nurse, and Operations Manager. I was born in the Philippines and raised in poverty. I immigrated to the United States at 18 and built my life through hard work, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to service. I earned my RN license in 2010 while working full time and raising two young sons. Over the past two decades, I have built a career in operations and management, leading teams of hundreds while never losing touch with my roots in nursing and direct patient care. I served on the front lines during COVID-19 as a member of the California Medical Assistance Team, directed large-scale vaccination operations as a POD Director, and currently serve the communities of Metropolitan Los Angeles County as a Public Health Nurse. I am a proud wife and mother of five.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Affordability is the biggest issue facing this state — and it hurts even more knowing how large our budget is and how much revenue California generates. The problem is not that we don't have money. The problem is that our leadership does not know how to manage it. And yet, their solution is to raise taxes again.

Politicians see data and reports. We feel it. We worry about gas prices, credit cards, and groceries. That is a perspective they may not be equipped to fully understand — because it is not a life they have lived.

We don't need more taxes. We need leaders who know how to properly spend the money we already have.Special interest groups may mean well — but regulations, fees, and taxes compound and hurt working Californians. Good intentions do not cancel out real harm. When political parties prioritize fighting each other over serving the people, progress stalls and Californians pay the price.

Accountability matters. Those in power must answer for the policies they push and the influence they accept. No more decisions made behind closed doors with no consequences.

I am not a politician and I do not intend to become one as a long time career. As Governor, the only group that will matter to me are the Californians who work hard to keep this state running. I don't answer to special interests or party agendas. I answer to you.California is worth being proud of — and I want every Californian to feel that again. I want our kids to learn how to stand firm in their values while respecting those who see things differently. I want to show that disagreements do not have to divide us.

As a nurse, I know that health is tied to community and relationships. It is hard to be well when we hate our neighbors and are ashamed of our state.

California has never stopped being great — because there are still so many Californians who love and serve this state. Innovative, bold, and among the most giving people in the world. As Governor, I want to bring us back to each other, back to our communities, and back to the pride of calling this place home.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Accountability, affordability, and community health.

Californians deserve a government that genuinely works for them — not for special interests or political agendas. I believe most people in this state want the same things — safety, opportunity, and a fair chance. My job as Governor is to make sure their voices are the ones that matter most.

Affordability is close to my heart. I have sat with families who work incredibly hard and still cannot make ends meet. California has the resources to do better by its people — and I believe we will.

And community health — because when people feel supported, connected, and cared for, everything else follows. A healthier California is a hopeful California.
