In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I was born elsewhere, but I built a career and raised my family in NH. I bought my first car and my first home here. I would like current and future generations to be able to do the same. The bulk of my career was spent as an educator with the UNH Cooperative Extension. I currently work for a local Early Intervention Program. The experiences and stories shared with me by people whom I have met through my community work, as well as the experiences of my own family, are what lead to me to run for office today. The very people we need in NH are being priced out by the high cost of living.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Affordability: Housing, healthcare, childcare, energy, food, education. NH needs to work for people from all walks of life and at all stages of life. It shouldn’t take three or four jobs to cover the bills for basic needs. Everyone deserves a life lived with dignity and a place at the table. We live in one of the wealthiest states in one of the wealthiest countries on the planet. We can do better than to decrease taxes on corporations while instituting monthly premiums and work requirements for Medicaid.NH’s natural resources are vital to our way of life and to our economy. Clean water, clean energy, healthy farms and forests. Safe drinking water. Clean air. The work we do today to ensure a sustainable environment for the future is an investment of immeasurable value.Upholding our Democracy. False accusations of voter fraud undermine an overwhelming secure election system.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am most interested in public policy related to education, public health, and our public safety net. NH rates last in the nation for state contributions to public education, yet the voucher program has been allowed to grow yearly and continues to divert funds meant for education, while book ban and bathroom bills distract the legislature from the real work of supporting and strengthening our public schools. Meanwhile, as we never know what what programs, research initiatives, and grants will be defunded at the federal level, it is imperative that New Hampshire takes a stand to support public health policy grounded in research and science, and to continue to fund the safety net that protects some of our most vulnerable NH citizens.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?

American Federation of Teachers-NH, Planned Parenthood-NH
