Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am a two-time graduate of The Ohio State University’s John Glenn College of Public Affairs, with a bachelors degree and masters in public administration. I currently work for YWCA Columbus, a nonprofit dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering women through social justice, education, and housing, as the Executive Assistant to the President & CEO. Previously, I worked in Human Resources with my PHR from HRIC, Campaigning, and Government. In my free time, I volunteer for Moderation Management as the Director of Development, spend time with my dogs and chickens, and serve on the Board of Directors for Highland Youth Garden on the Hilltop. My passion is public service, supporting the most vulnerable populations through an empathetic leadership style. I intend to bring empathy and compassion to the Statehouse.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
We must prioritize preventative mental and physical health care by investing in gun safety measures, protecting abortion rights, and expanding Medicaid and Medicare coverage. To support working families, we must increase the minimum wage, make childcare affordable, and invest in infrastructure and transportation. Simultaneously, I will fight to ensure our neighbors have access to clean drinking water, protect public lands, and invest in clean energy. Addressing these top priorities fosters healthier, safer, and more prosperous communities.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Delivering for our most vulnerable neighbors, whether it's preventative healthcare, gun safety laws, or putting forward policy that supports the working people on the West Side.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Someone who leads with empathy. Someone who not only cares for those who people in power leave behind, but takes the time to listen and advocate on their behalf.
What is something that has been a struggle in your life?
Dealing with my late-stage diagnosed ADHD.
