In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

My wife Rosemary and I moved to New Hampshire 36 years ago, right after we got married. We bought our first house in Goffstown where we lived for 12 years, and then moved to Weare where we have lived for nearly 21 years. We both love this state for its natural beauty, its creative communities, and the independent spirit of its people.

I started a video production company called Heartwood Media which I ran successfully for close to 30 years. During that time I worked with many non-profits, state agencies, and large and small corporations throughout New England. My business experience will serve me well if elected — I know how to work with people to get jobs done, develop and stick to budgets, and multi-task.

I have served on several boards of trustees — including the Piscataquog Land Conservancy, Businesses for Social Responsibility, and the NH Center for Nonprofits. I am vice chair of the Weare Energy Commission. I am an avid gardener, maple sugarer, fiddler, and also volunteer when I can.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Government That Works For All Of Us - not just those who can afford it. People are struggling to make ends meet and our representatives have chosen to give tax breaks to large and out-of-state businesses.

Rather than give tax cuts to large businesses, we should focus on the average person who is struggling with high property taxes. I haven’t gotten a tax cut, have you?Bringing Civility Back to Government – We need to be able to talk to one another, to hear one another. I’ve had hundreds of conversations with people in our towns and they are frustrated and exhausted by the tone of political discourse out of Concord.

I will work with anyone who is willing to listen, collaborate and compromise on legislation that will work for all people in NH.Protecting Local Control – Our Representatives are trying to pass laws that override votes that we have cast in our Town Meetings. This is not local control.

I believe that the people in our towns know what is best for them – not the people in Concord.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Affordability, Civility, Local Control, Environment.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?
