Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I have been the Bedford Town Supervisor since 2014 and before that, I was a Town Board Member. I also serve as Vice Chairman of Sustainable Westchester (which I helped launch), as Vice President of the East of Hudson Watershed Corporation, and as Vice Chairman of the Northern Westchester Watershed Committee. Before serving as Town Supervisor, I was senior counsel at Stewart Title Insurance Company of New York.

I'm very proud of what we have accomplished in Bedford during my tenure as Town Supervisor. We've reduced greenhouse emissions by 44%, repaved 684 running through Katonah, built affordable housing - in conjunction with the Antioch Baptist Church - in a time frame no one thought possible, broke ground on a much-needed sewer project 100 years in the making, and adopted strong policies protecting immigrants, denouncing Anti-Semitism, and in support of Black Lives. I've also been working alongside all the other local Town Supervisors and Mayors, so I understand the needs of their towns and cities. I've been working with the County Legislature, the County Executive, the State Assembly, the State Senate. I have the relationships, the knowledge of the district, and the proven track record to be effective on day one.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Pandemic Recovery - I will fight to get our communities the State funding, health care, and other services they need to recover from the impact of COVID-19. The Climate Crisis - The time to address the climate crisis is now. We are out of time. Last year under Governor Cuomo's leadership, New York State enacted the most ambitious clean energy and climate agenda in the Nation. It commits our State to using 70% renewable energy by 2030. Our greatest focus must be to implement the law as a powerful engine for economic growth. As one of the fastest economic growth sectors, the "Green Economy" will pull our district and our state out of the pandemic-induced recession with thousands of good paying jobs based on clean, renewably sourced energy. Social Justice - I will fight to root out systemic racism in our justice system, educational system, and all other institutions. The time is past due for us to make necessary changes in order to create a more equitable society.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Besides the pandemic recovery, the climate crisis, and social justice, I am also passionate about:

Healthcare - We need universal, affordable health care that does not undermine current coverage.

Women’s Rights - I’ll continue the fight for equal pay for equal work, to end job discrimination, for paid family leave, and for women’s reproductive rights.

Education Funding for our Schools – I’ll work to change the State’s unfair funding formula, so our schools receive the State education funds they need.

Tax Fairness – I will fight to retain the tax cap, ensure our taxes are not being wasted, and that our communities get their fair share of State funding.
