Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
My motivation for running for the Unicameral in Nebraska is underscored by an enduring commitment to God, Country and Family. I believe serving in public offices is a privilege as I had the privilege to serve the country for 31 years. I also have an MBA and 15 years managing $1B+ piplelines for publicly-traded 100,000+people companies. Legislators should understand that they have an honor to serve so they should conduct themselves with integrity as well as finding common ground. I am proud to have the endorsement of a national organization: With Honor. I have led thousands of military from all walks of life, flown in combat, served around the world--finding consensus in the board room and in uniform to achieve results under pressure!Property tax relief is unequivocally the # 1 issue affecting the great constituents of LD-20. Property taxes continue to wildly and unpredictably outpace inflation. No business (or even household) budgets in this manner. They use escalation for labor costs, machinery costs, production, etc. and it’s usually comparable to the CPI or some reasonable (and predictable) increase. It’s time for results! Our LD 20 senator lacks experience that is used by business and the military: identify the problem (root cause analysis, etc.), lay out an action plan(s), cadence action plan(s), set smart/measurable/achievable/realistic/time-phased goals, remain accountable and clearly define end states/off-ramps.--with a sense of urgency!Strong/safe communities: Mental health: I will prioritize mental health policy when elected. I stand for increasing access to mental health care, promoting prevention early intervention by expanding youth mental health workforce. Recognized as only one of four candidates in NE to have the Mental Health Now Candidate distinction--this is non-partisan and a great honor. One of the key competitive advantages of Nebraska is our citizens feeling safe. I will strive to continue funding of various levels of law enforcement but also work with the leaders to identify areas for efficiency & leveraging technology (such as AI/ML) so departments can operate support functions leaner while maintaining their core capability of serving and protecting.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Economic growth: We must protect and strengthen the agricultural sector while also diversifying our economy to achieve sustainable, strategic growth. Comprehensive tax reform: Our tax code is in desperate need of an overhaul. I want to keep Nebraskans here while also attracting new corporations (and talent, which pay property/other taxes) as well as those that wish to return to The Good Life. Role of govt: The less government, the better. Nebraskans know how to run their lives and businesses better than a bureaucrat sitting at a desk in Lincoln. Government should exist to protect the people (We the People), serve the people, be solely guided by the principles of the Constitution, our freedoms and encourage the economy.
