Chester Tam was born in Taunton, Massachusetts. He graduated from Bishop Stang High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Bridgewater State University.

His career experience includes 13 years in the family-run restaurant business, work as a small business owner, and more than 25 years in the private sector in software, financial, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industries, holding various technology positions.
