In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I believe in the power of family values, community involvement, and nurturing dreams. I am running for Missouri State Representative, District 94, to ensure our children receive a quality education by increasing funding for school programs. I support increasing the minimum wage and lowering taxes, so that hard-working people can live life to the fullest, whether that’s starting a business, starting a family, or buying a home; I will stand for the rights of all to achieve that objective.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Fair pay and taxation, and the removal of confusing language from any legislation, are necessary for the public to vote appropriately. By supporting fair, reliable taxation, we fund a healthy, vibrant middle and lower class, which will, in turn, support our country. Taxing millionaires and billionaires at 5% each year will lift our nation out of debt and allow Americans to live the lives they work so hard for and deserve. The current taxes are set up to take from the most vulnerable and give to those who need it least. This system is unsustainable and must be changed! We need healthcare that is available for every person in this nation. The loss of healthcare is one of the largest looming threats to our society. When healthcare is removed, people are forced to use emergency care facilities as their doctor's office, reducing availability for actual emergencies and affecting every person in that community. Overfilled waiting rooms and unpaid, unaffordable medical bills send households into crisis. We can do better with reasonable, accessible healthcare, we can lower state costs and increase personal vitality, making a healthier state for everyone. Maternal and paternal leave also needs to be revised; families need time to bond and adjust to the addition of a new member.Education for all. Funding our essential learning programs is absolutely necessary. Special school districts are overfilled and underfunded. Making Trade schools and junior colleges free, and 4-year degrees affordable or free. Early education and childcare need to be reliable partners, working to better prepare our toddlers and preschoolers for a healthy learning environment. Making school lunch and breakfast programs available to all is an important part of helping our children reach their full potential while creating a winning environment for our hard-working teachers. Also, increasing pay for teachers is essential to encouraging new teachers and retaining experienced leaders. We must do better for our Future!

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Affordability is a crushing problem for Americans; this is a non-partisan issue. We must face the rising cost crisis and make practical changes that will allow our country to return to strength and unity. The emotional toll of living paycheck to paycheck and having more than one job or no job at all has only one end in sight: the collapse of our nation. To prevent a state of depression or regression, we need to put governance in place that will effectively change the course we are on and apply leadership to redefine what works for our country.
