Carrie Sanders McKeehan was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Kentucky University and Bellarmine University in 1999, a graduate degree from Kentucky State University in 2011, and a graduate degree from Asbury University in 2015, . Her career experience includes working as an educator. She has been associated with Right to Life, American Family Association, KY Liberty Caucus, and Constitutional KY.[1]

Carrie Sanders McKeehan was born and raised in Louisville Kentucky and is an Educator in the public and private sector. Prior to being a teacher, Carrie flourished in a career doing Social Services serving families and childcare facilities. She earned her Educational Specialist Degree, Master of Arts in Special Education, and Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

As a mother, teacher, community member and church member; I relate to the concerns of our communities as it pertains to safety, school accountability, better jobs and limited government. I will listen to my constituents and represent my community with honesty, care and integrity.As an educator, I am able to advocate for students, parents, teachers and all stakeholders for policies that will strengthen local schools and provide school choice to better serve the needs of our students.I will defend the constitution and liberties that are currently in place that ensures freedom for today and future generations.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am passionate about policies that support prolife, quality schools, limited government, and local businesses. Additionally, I am passionate of polices that support liberty, safe communities, and strong families.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

To represent the concerns of my constituents and to make good laws that help our communities.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

I worked for The Cabinet for Health and Family Services as a Case Management Specialist and Human Services Surveyor. I worked there for four and half years before becoming an educator.

What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature?

The ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature is a relationship that is compatible, holds respect and has mutual understanding with each issue.

What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?

The greatest challenges our state holds over the next decade is improved educational opportunities, greater fiscal responsibility within our government, and new business opportunities.

What are the benefits and drawbacks of a unicameral state legislature, in your opinion?

I am for a three branch government system for checks and balances that will allow our constitution to be upheld.

Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics?

NO

Do you believe it’s beneficial to build relationships with other legislators? Please explain your answer.

Building strong relationships with other legislators is paramount because working together has a better result, which means better laws.

What process do you favor for redistricting?

The one that is currently in place.

I believe that compromise is necessary for policymaking if the outcome affects my district in a positive way.
