In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
As a lifelong resident of Wyandotte County and proud graduate of Turner High School in Kansas City, KS, I am honored to serve as the Kansas Representative for House District 33. I have served our community as the Mayor of Edwardsville, KS since 2022 and a member of the Edwardsville City Council for four years prior. During my time in elected office, I have made advocating for my constituents and working toward long-term, real solutions to curb runaway property taxes my primary focus.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Our residents on fixed incomes are scared of losing their homes and being forced out of the community they love, while the younger generation is being priced out of realizing the American Dream of homeownership. Kansans are overtaxed and need effective solutions for property tax relief. I will continue advocating for property tax relief for my neighbors in Wyandotte County and throughout the State of Kansas.Kansans want to know they are safe in their homes, at work and in their community. Our laws need to protect the quality of life of our residents so they can love where they live, work, raise their families and retire.Every tax dollar comes from hard working Kansans who deserve transparency, accountability, and good stewardship. As your Representative of Kansas House District 33, I will continue advocating for fiscal accountability and responsibility.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
As both a Mayor and Realtor, I've heard time and time again about the need to address rising property taxes and provide real solutions to the affordability crisis that so many in our community face. I'll work with anyone to make progress on those issues for Wyandotte County and ensure that our community is a great place to work, has safe communities and excellent schools so our families can live the American dream. I’m excited to continue my service to our community as an advocate for the residents of District 33 in the Kansas legislature.
