Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am a Wife, Mother, Business owner and strong advocate for families and children.
I have actively worked for my community and advocated for its people, demonstrating the type of work I will continue as a representative in Topeka, fighting for the rights of my constituents. Many politicians get confused about their role and make it about themselves, voting for their own beliefs. But at the end of the day, it's about what the community wants. When you get out, know the people in your community, and talk to them regularly, you understand what they need, and that’s what you fight for.
I am committed to going door-to-door, canvassing, and letting those in my community and district know exactly who I am. My ongoing advocacy speaks for itself. I am not just a proud Kansan, but a proud Wichitan.

There are many historical events that have happened in my lifetime that I remember but one I am most pleased about was President Obama becoming the first elected African-American president of the United States I am thankful that I was alive to be able to see that and even more so thankful That my grandmother who was in her 80s was able to see that as well. I remember how moved she was watching the news and being a part of that piece of history And then her own grandson being the first elected African-American mayor of the largest city in Kansas. I remember her saying she never thought she’d see the day an African-American was in a political leadership role.

Effective governing often requires working together in order to pass legislation that’s important to our constituents.
Is there a particular legislator, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after?
Yes, there are 2. Late Representative Gail Finney who helped to pass the most recent children in Foster care laws. Last, is Representative KC Ohaebosim who loves everything about what he does and is a true advocate for the people not just in his community or district but all of Kansas.
Are you interested in running for a different political office (for example, the U.S. Congress or governor) in the future?
No, Currently i have no plans on running for anything other than State Representative.
Both sitting legislators and candidates for office hear many personal stories from the residents of their district. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching, memorable, or impactful?
Living on the south side of town in District 98, I've witnessed a unique culture and diverse community. One poignant story comes from a middle-aged woman in my neighborhood who was diagnosed with cancer. As a result of her illness, she had to miss work and subsequently lost her job and health insurance. Navigating the system to secure resources for her cancer treatment and to cover her living expenses while she was unable to work was a daunting challenge. Compounding this struggle was her inability to find effective healthcare. This experience underscores the critical need for Medicaid expansion to ensure access to essential healthcare services for all individuals, particularly those in vulnerable situations.

Should the legislature oversee or grant the use of emergency powers?
A balanced approach, where the legislature grants emergency powers with predefined conditions, regular review, and strict reporting requirements, can provide the necessary flexibility for the executive to act swiftly while maintaining democratic oversight and accountability. This approach ensures that emergency powers are used appropriately and only for as long as necessary, protecting the principles of checks and balances.
