In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

C.L. Marshall, resident of Pocomoke MD, lifelong resident of the Eastern Shore. I operate Tangier Sound Charters, a fishing and eco-tourism business based on the Chesapeake Bay. Currently serve on Pocomoke City Council, Worcester County Tourism Advisory Board, with experience on Atlantic General Hospital Foundation Board, Delmarva Discovery Museum, and several others.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Eastern Shore First. The Lower Shore demands representation that protects our way of life, seeks responsible development, and supports our farmers, fishermen, and business owners. Each decision will be weighed on how it affects the Lower Shore, and I'll be loud, clear, and consistent in my Lower Shore support. I've spoke in the House and Senate on bills that could have had great impact on the Shore and built partnerships finding solutions that benefit the Lower Shore. Our area is like none other in the State, and deserves representation that ensures it isn't encroached upon by discards from the eft side of the bridgeResponsible Economic Development. There are many images that depict life on the Eastern Shore. Skipjacks, tractors, and kids crabbing come to mind. It's not the place for windmills, data centers, or industrial solar fields. While I'm a fan of alternative energy, solar could be better utilized atop parking garages, rooftops, and similar western shore facilities and not on our prime farmland. Additionally, solar companies should be required to post cash bond to remedy decommissioning and environmental remediation prior to construction. While data centers may be a necessary evil in today's society, until they can operate on a closed cooling system and supply their own power, they should not be allowed to deplete our resources.Fix our local economy. Unbridled spending will leave Maryland with a structural deficit of staggering proportions. Fees and taxes have placed tremendous burden on Lower Shore Residents. Car registrations, court fees, and 335 other impositions have made life difficult. Excessive state oversight has placed increased burdens on farmers and fishermen, backbone of our local economy. State tax law currently deprives municipalities like Pocomoke, Crisfield, and Princess Anne of funding in areas such as State Highway Tax and Cannabis tax revenue. Securing funding for our municipalities is key to enhancing our way of life.
