Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
Raised in the Midwest by hardworking blue-collar parents, Bryan Beckman and his brothers were the first generation in his family to graduate college. Bryan enjoyed a 30-year career with a global food company, leading world-wide warehouse and transportation systems while delivering cost savings. He and his wife of over 35 years, Kathleen, have raised three children: Josh, Sarah, and Michael. After retiring to Clearwater, Bryan became deeply involved in the community, advocating for energy cost reduction and holding leadership roles in various organizations. Bryan is a passionate advocate for women's reproductive rights, lowering living costs, and environmental conservation. Dedicated to improving the lives of families, Bryan believes our elected officials often prioritize big corporation lobbyists over family quality of life. He opposes recent restrictive Florida laws on women's reproductive freedoms and criticizes the state's poor handling of rising inusrance, housing and healthcare costs, as well as environmental issues, and teacher pay. With a background in cost reduction, environmental advocacy, and community engagement, Bryan aims to collaborate with families, legislators, community leaders, and experts to address these critical issues. Unlike his opponent, he will not accept money from insurance lobbyists and will fight against special interests to lower our costs and enhance the quality of life for families.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Bryan Beckman stands firmly with women in Florida, advocating for their right to make personal healthcare decisions. He believes that reproductive rights are fundamental to women's health and equality. Bryan will fight to ensure that every woman has access to the healthcare services she needs, without government interference.Floridians deserve reliable and affordable property insurance. Bryan Beckman is committed to reforming the property insurance system to protect homeowners from skyrocketing premiums and ensure timely claims processing. He will work to hold insurance companies accountable and provide relief to families struggling with insurance costs.Bryan Beckman is dedicated to protecting Pinellas County's beautiful coastline and ensuring our community is resilient against the impacts of climate change. He advocates for sustainable policies that reduce carbon emissions, promote clean energy, and safeguard our environment for future generations. Bryan understands that a healthy environment is crucial for our economy, our health, and our quality of life.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Women's reproductive freedoms are being taken away by Bryan's opponent. Florida has the most restrictive abortion laws in the nation. Insurance, housing, and healthcare costs are out of control in Pinellas and Florida. Florida is last in the nation in paying our teachers. Our state intentionally has its head in the sand regarding rising temperatures, rising sea levels, and pollution.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Our elected officials are too often focused on the priorities of big corporation lobbyists, and not focused on quality of life for families. Recent Florida laws have made life more difficult for families, not easier or better. Unlike his opponent, Bryan will NOT accept huge sums of money from INSURANCE lobbyists. Bryan will stand up to special interests that are price gouging families.
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
I delivered newspapers when I was 14 years old. With that money, I was able to buy my first bike. That type of job set a foundation for other jobs that helped me pay for college and then a 30 year career with a global food company.
