Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am a small business owner, a mother, a healer, and a native Appalachian with roots in revolution stemming back to the Matewan Massacre. I want to protect and defend the Constitution, improve Congressional oversight, and hold our elected officials accountable for violating the law and the Constitution.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Protect and enforce the Constitution. We do not see this happening, but we do see our rights being violated every single day.Invest in America's infrastructure. West Virginia has some of the worst roads in the country. Our very own representative, Carol Miller, voted against the infrastructure bill that was already bringing in money to WV. This is not the kind of representation that the people of WV nor America need.Center people, not profit. Billionaires are the only minority destroying America. I prefer diversity over dictatorship and people over profit.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Economic policy, foreign policy, and restructuring our public education system. My children, my family, and I have personally been affected by these three. Beginning with economic policy, I have yet to see the minimum wage increase to a living wage. Hourly workers cannot survive in this recession. Next, foreign policy is important to me because when I was 8 years old, I saw the tragedy of 9/11 take place in third grade. It was then that I knew that anything could happen on our soil. Now, I see the hour we are in. If we do not act now, we will have a country that is unrecognizable. Finally, my older son is 12 and attends a public school, and last week they received 3 bomb threats and only two kids were suspended. None of this is okay.

Campaign websiteAguirre's campaign website stated the following:People Over ProfitToo many hardworking West Virginians are doing everything right but still falling behind. I believe in building an economy that works for the people who power it. That means protecting workers’ rights, raising wages, and making sure families can afford the basics like food, housing, child care without sacrificing their dignity to get by.Healthy CommunitiesI’ve spent years helping people recover from trauma, loss, and addiction. Care should not depend on your zip code or your bank account. I will push for real investment in mental health services, fully funded recovery programs, and community clinics that treat people with compassion, not judgment. Healing is possible when care is accessible.Education & EmpowermentPublic education is the promise we make to the next generation. I’ll fight to keep that promise. That means better pay and support for teachers, strong neighborhood schools, and expanded pathways for students to find success whether that’s through college, trade school, or creative pursuits. Every child deserves the chance to grow and lead.Accountability & RepresentationCarol Miller has spent years looking out for herself and her donors while ignoring the people she was elected to serve. She hid her family’s pandemic payouts, voted to block transparency, and never shows up when it counts. I’m running to bring that era to an end. I’ll answer to the people of southern West Virginia. Not corporations, not party bosses, and not billionaires. This seat belongs to the folks who live here, work here, and fight to make life better for their families. That’s who I’ll represent, every single day.— Britta Aguirre's campaign website (May 7, 2026)Note: This text is quoted verbatim from the original source.
