Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

US Navy veteran. I am a third generation veteran. Disabled Veteran. I wake up grateful for everyday that I'm alive and healthy. It is a privilege to be an American citizen! I believe in the American dream for American citizens! I'm running for Congress because I'm tired of the elites on both sides destroying our Veterans and Working class on both sides. The elites are sitting back laughing at us because we have lost friends and family over party politics. This election is crucial for the working class American citizens! If we don't vote for Veterans and the working class in this election the elites will forever hold onto their power.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Vote for Veterans and the American working classConstitution of the United States of America Freedom, Love, and Peace

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Upholding the constitution of the United States of America! Serving Veterans and the American working class. They are they heart beat of this country and have been left behind and forgetting about. All of them on every side. Democrats, Republicans, and all other Americans! It's time to stop worrying about parties and worry about the American people! Look around, are you really happy with the people who have been in power for so long? Forget about the letter next to someone's name. Let's vote people who will fight for what's right, who won't back down from the bullying of the elites! Vote Brian Perras for Congress! District 29!

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

I looked up to my parents! They were great people who always said you stand up for what is right and make sure that the people who may not be able to stand up for themselves has a voice. That's what I have lived by ever since. If you give your word to someone you better stick by your word! Being a third generation veteran I love this country and its law abiding citizens!

Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?

The constitution of the United States! The Bible!

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

God, and the Constitution of the United States of America! Don't forget why we were voted in, it's the American working class and Veterans! No matter what your party affiliations are, it should always come down to who will do the best job for the people. Veterans and the working class have to come together! Freedom of speech for everyone whether we like what people say or not. It is okay to disagree. No party is morally better than the other one! We have to listen more and be respectful of each other.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

I'm passionate, compassionate, I work hard/smart, I'm understanding and open minded. Respectful, grateful, willing to do what is needed in order to get the job done right and correct! If I give you my word, that means more to me than most things! I won't back down from bullies. I love serving the people!

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Fight for the veterans and working class law abiding Americans citizens!

What legacy would you like to leave?

A great one. For the people of this country and district 29 to say there is our congressman, who did what he said he would do and serve all the veterans and working class American citizens. I would love to hear this from Democrats, Republicans, all American citizens.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

I accepted Christ into my heart at the age of 14.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

My first job was when I was 14. I was a bagger at a supermarket. I grew up helping my dad with his side business, on weekends. Also, mowed lawns growing up. I didn't have much so did what I needed to do in order to help my family.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be?

Superman

What was the last song that got stuck in your head?

Queen songs or Bob Segar

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Many things. Life is hard. I've been homeless a few times. never give up on yourself and your dreams. I've lost my family! My biggest struggle is thinking I'm a superhero and want to save the world. Now I just want help serve the American people. It has been a lot of fun so far and I just want to keep working for the people. I have just always had faith that things would work out!

What qualities does the U.S. House of Representatives possess that makes it unique as an institution?

If you can vote in people who are willing to compromise to get common sense laws and regulations done, the American people would prosper. Working together is key. I am willing to work with Democrats, Republicans, anyone in order to help the American people.

Do you believe that it's beneficial for representatives to have previous experience in government or politics?

No

What do you perceive to be the United States' greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?

Legal immigration, border security, the Constitution of the United States 🇺🇸! The elites controlling the veterans and working class! Infrastructure, jobs, and pre-existing healthcare options.

If you are not a current representative, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of?

I would love to be part of any of the committees, where is needed.

If you are a current representative, why did you join your current committees?

N/A

Do you believe that two years is the right term length for representatives?

Yes

What are your thoughts on term limits?

I used to be for them, but that's up to the American people to vote. If you don't vote someone in or out then it's on the voters. But with all these illegal things going on during voting maybe term limits are better that way it's a fair process.

If you are not currently a member of your party’s leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives, would you be interested in joining the leadership? If so, in what role?

Yes, I would. In any role we feel would be best suited for my people of the 29th district.

Is there a particular representative, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after?

Nope.

Both sitting representatives and candidates for office hear many personal stories from the residents of their district. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching, memorable, or impactful?

Many of them so far. You can see the passion and disappointment they have towards our current elected local official. He hasn't done anything for them, yet they continue to vote because of the letter next to his name. Not the job he has done. It's time we make history and vote for me, I'm going to people the people voice!
