In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

A third‑generation Idaho native, Brenda H. Quick grew up in public schools across the state, learning the values that define Idaho: hard work, personal responsibility, and community. A single mother to one son—an Eagle Scout and now Dentist—she understands the real challenges facing Idaho families.

Brenda put herself through college while raising a young child, earning undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Speech Communication from the University of Washington, followed by a Master of Public Administration and a Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho.

For more than 20 years, she has built a respected career as an attorney practicing in Idaho's courts. As Managing Partner at Quick Ankrum Law, PLLC, Brenda represents Idaho families in their most difficult moments, involving divorce, custody, modification, guardianships/conservatorships, adoptions, and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status matters. She is known for her thorough preparation, strong advocacy, and fair results.

Service has always been central to Brenda’s life. She has volunteered extensively with Scouting, community service programs, and local nonprofits. She served on charitable boards and provided pro bono legal services to veterans and underserved communities.

Her campaign for the Idaho State Senate is focused on government accountability, education, and supporting local businesses—working to ensure Idaho remains a place where families, businesses and communities can thrive.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Government accountability - balanced budgeting, ensuring Idahoans receive the services they need and want. Making sure our tax dollars go to support not simply the wealthiest of citizens but, rather all citizens. This isn't a left versus right issue. It is a wealth vs. working class issue.Expanding educational opportunity in Idaho starts with strong K-12 schools that support teachers, improve early literacy and ensure every community-urban or rural-has access to advanced coursework and career-technical programs. Idaho students deserve clear pathways to success, whether that means college, apprenticeships, or workforce training. Strengthening community colleges, partnering with local employers, and improving broadband access will help students of all ages gain the skills needed to thrive in Idaho's growing economy.Idaho's strength comes from the grit and creativity of our local businesses. I'm committed to clearing barriers so entrepreneurs can thrive - cutting red tape, simplifying licensing, and keeping taxes predictable. We must invest in workforce training, rural broadband, and infrastructure that supports growth. When businesses succeed, communities prosper. I'm running to ensure Idaho remains a place where hard work leads to opportunity.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I'm running to restore a sense of humanity in our politics - where every human is valued and heard. Our communities thrive when we work hard and see that we all have a common goal - to provide for and raise our families in a safe place. We are more alike than we acknowledge. A well-educated community is a supportive community providing opportunities to advance ourselves and others. We all play a vital role in our economy, and we all should contribute our fair share to the infrastructure we depend upon. When businesses get to avoid paying taxes then it is the citizens who all have to pick up the costs. We also need a strong medical community to assist us in making responsible choices relating to our bodies, not legislators.
