In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
First and foremost, I am a Coloradan who cares for Coloradans. When I am asked why I am running for House Representatives I tell them that Coloradans have lost too much. Colorado families are struggling to live in a state whose State Legislators continue to pass harmful, costly legislation to the effect that Colorado is now in debt and will ask Coloradans to pay for their failures. Indicative of the hard, for the first time in our history the number of Coloradans leaving exceeds the number of people wanting to live in Colorado.
I have lived a life of service the life of service that I pursued and want to continue to serve. At 17, I entered service in the U.S. Army. I served during peacetime, provided humanitarian support for the Herzegovina-Bosnia conflict, and served in the Iraqi War, where I was awarded the Bronze Star.
After service I went to work at NORTHCOM, an organization tasked to deter, prevent, and defeat threats and aggression aimed at the U.S.. I attained a doctoral degree with a homeland security emphasis.
My volunteer history includes seven years under the El Paso County Sheriff, emergency management before it moved under the city. I serve on a road impact board and the County Citizen Outreach Group.
I am pro-life, pro-Constitution, pro-citizen, pro-parent, pro-business, pro-free enterprise, support agriculture, farming, pro-balanced budget, pro-natural resource proponent, and pro common sense, less regulation and an anti-fee candidate.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Coloradans have lost too much. It is time for Coloradan citizens to turn away from the harmful left ideological strategies that have made affordable living in Colorado the mainstay. Coloradans deserve better, deserve less regulations, less control, less fees, less reckless spending and more care for citizen survival. The Democrat-controlled legislation has lowered TABOR refunds from $800 (income dependent) to $19. Those with fixed incomes have are hurt immensely and unable to keep up with the increased financial burden placed on them through increased property taxes, fees, and cost of living. It is time for Coloradans to take control and vote in their favor vice paying for leftist ideologies that harm them and their families.Government (the State) has no parental decision-making authority. The State Democrats engaged in a concerted effort to supersede the roles and responsibilities of parents with an attempt to make it against the law for teachers and school administration to notify parents that/when their child is experiencing challenges, such as gender confusion. The parent is the authority and should be able to assist their child. The parent should be able to seek the counseling they choose. This matter was taken to the Supreme Court which agree. The Democrats made a concerted effort to charge a parents as negligent for calling their own child the name that the parent gave, to the effect of the parent losing custody of the child. Vote pro-parent,Colorado is suffering from Democrat anti-law enforcement legislation. Colorado is now the third state with the highest crime rate. State government has the responsibility to assure the safety and security of its citizens. Colorado Democrats have failed. The leftist legislators are so emboldened that, in the last legislative session, Democrats tried to pass an mass shooter protection bill. The backlash was such that they were forced to take that bill off of the table. The continuous anti-law enforcement bills tie the hands of law enforcement resulting in high crime, less safety for our families and other loved ones. Vote to promote safety, demand high consequence for criminals, and vote for the security of our and our children's lives.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am passionate about saving lives, from the unborn to the person who is experiencing or has experienced the horrors of human trafficking. Colorado's rate of human trafficking is among the highest in the U.S. and this is tragic. Colorado Democrats have heard from victims who bravely go to testify against bills that serve to decriminalize or set ridiculous standards for high consequence. The mute ear to a human tragedy is the highest disregard for the victims. Laws that do not protect valuable, vulnerable lives is tragic and I will fight to save lives. Low consequence laws emboldens the law breaker. Abortion also goes against a valuable, vulnerable life. I will support pro-life and safety for the most vulnerable.
