In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

My name is Brandon Strong, and I am an educator, business owner, community leader, husband, and father of five. I currently serve as the Executive Director of Barry County Christian Schools, where I have led the growth of the organization from a single campus serving 55 students to three campuses serving more than 250 students. In addition to my work in education, I own and operate Green Light Driving Academy and Prosper Apparel, two businesses that serve families and organizations throughout our community.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from Trinity Bible College and a Master's Degree in Leadership from South Dakota State University. Over the course of my career, I have served as a teacher, special education teacher, high school principal, coach, athletic recruiter, and educational administrator. I have also been actively involved in community service, including serving as Chairman of the Barry County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Alliance and currently serving on the Barry County GOP Executive Committee.

My wife, Samantha, and I have chosen to build our lives in Barry County, where we are raising our five children. We operate a hobby farm, produce maple syrup, maintain a large garden, and enjoy being actively involved in our community. I am passionate about strengthening families, supporting educational excellence, encouraging economic growth, and ensuring responsible stewardship of the resources entrusted to our communities.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Strong Families, Strong Communities:

I believe strong communities begin with strong families. Every policy decision should be viewed through the lens of how it impacts parents, children, seniors, and the future of our communities. I will work to protect the values that make Barry County and the 78th District great places to live, work, and raise a family.Responsible Leadership and Fiscal Stewardship:

Throughout my career, I have managed budgets, led organizations, and made decisions that required accountability and transparency. Government should be no different. I will work to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely, government remains accountable to the people, and decisions are focused on results rather than politics.Growing Opportunity Through Education, Agriculture, and Small Business:

As an educator, business owner, and community leader, I understand that thriving communities depend on strong schools, successful local businesses, and a healthy agricultural economy. I will support policies that encourage economic growth, workforce development, infrastructure improvements, and opportunities for future generations to succeed right here in Michigan.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am passionate about education, workforce development, economic growth, and strengthening families and communities. Having spent my career in education, I believe that providing students with a high-quality education and practical life skills is one of the best investments we can make in our future. I am also passionate about expanding opportunities for small businesses, supporting agriculture, and ensuring that communities have the infrastructure necessary to grow and thrive.

I care deeply about responsible government, fiscal stewardship, and local decision-making. Taxpayers deserve leaders who will spend public dollars wisely, protect individual freedoms, and focus on practical solutions rather than partisan politics.
