In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a passionate lover of freedom, liberty and self determination. I have a servant' s heart and the desire to be a servant leader for the Lowcountry of South Carolina. I have been shaped by family generations who taught me hard work, love of community, love of family and love of freedom. I am a rational thinker, using data to identify problems, evaluate the root causes and develop cost effective and efficient solutions. I welcome constructive criticism and use it to sharpen myself. I am blessed with a wonderful wife, three adult children and five grandkids.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

To paraphrase James Carville, "It's the DEFICIT, stupid!" Republicans and Democrats have rung up $38 trillion in federal debt. The three main culprits: interest payments on the debt itself, impending bankruptcy of Social Security, and Medicare, which is about tobe overwhelmed by our aging population.Despite being a nation of immigrants, our current immigration programs and policies are completely inadequate. Allowing unlimited asylum and temporary protected status applications results in the system being overloaded and over run. Limiting high skill and low skill work visas results in high labor costs and a shrinking workforce. On top of those flaws, we have thousands more immigrants in limbo (The Dreamers) who deserve a path to citizenship.I support funding the best military force in the world and using it RARELY. I will legislate to remove all Authorizations for Use of Military Force currently in effect and force the Executive branch to abide by Article One of the Constitution, which gives Congress the power to declare war. I will legislate to block the use of the US military as a police force within the U.S. borders. I will legislate to block "nation building" .

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Budget, over incarceration, proper use of Military Force, over regulation of free Enterprise, federal interference in education.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

To make America Great Again, we must make Congress Great Again. The US house has given up its article 1 authorities and powers. I will work tirelessly to restore the US House to its rightful place balanced system set up by the Founders.Social Security and Medicare are driving the country to fiscal disaster. I have plans that will stabilize the programs short term and put them on long term, sound financial footing.I will legislate for and fund the strongest, best prepared military in the world. AND, I will use the powers of Article 1 of the Constitution to ensure our military is used RARELY and NEVER for nation building nor the overthrow of other sovereign nations.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Balancing the federal budget and reducing the federal deficit.

Completely overhauling the legal immigration system by encouraging the entry of law abiding workers, eliminating asylum entry and reducing the Temporary Protected status program.
