In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
My name is Dr. Beth Fuller. I am a lifelong Georgian, public health professional, a mother, and a first-time candidate for Georgia’s House of Representatives in District 53. I grew up with a father who was a judge, and he taught me the importance of due process and how to lead with integrity. When my contract with the CDC was terminated as a result of Trump's funding cuts in 2024, I decided it was time to step up for my community and run for office.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
I am running to stand up to Trump’s reckless agenda that is driving costs up for families and creating chaos in our community. This district deserves a representative that reflects the values of the community and fights for them in the legislature. I am ready to fight for my constituents and champion policy that improves their lives.I will be a vote for medicaid expansion and more affordable healthcare. I will take on insurance companies that are driving healthcare premiums up and fight for policy that cuts costs. I bring decades of experience in public health policy and I know that affordable, accessible healthcare is key to a thriving society.I will fight for safe schools for our children. This means advocating for commonsense gun policy and ensuring our public schools are fully funded.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am particularly passionate about public policy that promotes equity and health outcomes, whether that be accessible healthcare, responsible gun policy, climate consciousness, or affordable housing. The affordability crisis is real and growing nationwide, and I’m passionate about advancing policies that lower costs for Georgians.
