Campaign websiteMizusawa's campaign website stated the following:PlatformWhere I StandFiscal Responsibility"The national debt has more than tripled since Mark Warner joined the Senate. Back then he said he would lead the way to balancing the budget, but he's joined the extreme left spenders in Washington. I will focus government on its core functions and bring excessive spending under control."Affordability"The tax code is overly complex and burdensome. You should not need to hire a CPA to understand your tax liability. I support a simpler tax code with fewer brackets and larger standard deductions."Defending our Military"Virginia needs a pro-military Senator, not one who votes to tie their hands and micromanages missions. I am a combat veteran who graduated number one at West Point, and was promoted to Major General in 2011. I authored the Trump doctrine for foreign policy and was appointed senior advisor for national security technology and business integration at the Central Intelligence Agency. I know the military and the global challenges we face."Second Amendment"Our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms is key to the security of freedom and individual liberty. I will defend our rights to citizen self-defense and fight any effort to infringe on that right."Immigration"America should always be a nation of fair justice and law. While America grew as a nation of immigrants and should continue their lawful assimilation, it's high time for us to be a nation of Americans. We must keep our borders secure while making legal immigration for those seeking the American Dream an easier process. Those who legally immigrate should be prepared to assimilate to the American way of life and not turn America into the lands they were fleeing."Energy"Nuclear power is clean, cheap, reliable and safe. Today's nuclear technology is, as they say, not your father's technology. I support bringing new nuclear power on-line to slash the ever-increasing energy costs for American households."— Bert Mizusawa's campaign website (July 6, 2026)Note: This text is quoted verbatim from the original source.
