Ben McAdams

Ben McAdams earned a bachelor's degree from Elmhurst University in 2018 and a law degree from the DePaul University College of Law in 2023. McAdams' career experience includes working as a community organizer.[1]

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a lifelong Illinoisan whose family has lived in district 24 for over 60 years. In college I double majored in economics and finance at Elmhurst College (then university). After graduation I worked as a community organizer, and at local park districts. I then went on to get my Juris Doctorate from DePaul University’s College of Law and have worked at different legal aid non-profits in immigration law and civil rights law.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

That Illinois needs to stop over taxing middle class and working class households through our over reliance on property taxes, and instead raise taxes from corporations and billionaires to fund our services.That our state needs to protect civil rights that are under attack at the federal-level by passing new voting rights legislation.That we need to protect our healthcare system and lower costs by investing more in public healthcare infrastructure and programs.
