Art Stresing

Art Stresing earned a high school diploma from Notre Dame High School, a bachelor's degree from the University of Buffalo in 2006, and a law degree from the Florida Coastal School of Law in 2010. Stresing's career experience includes working as an attorney.[1]

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Art Stresing is the son of a Disabled Navy Veteran father and a Filipino Immigrant Mother. He worked his way through college and earned his undergraduate degree at the University at Buffalo while a recruited walk-on on their D-1 Football Team at Center/Guard. He earned his law degree at Florida Coastal and has been practicing law as an attorney since 2011.

He’s lived in the Saint Johns/Jacksonville area for 20 years and has lived in Saint Johns since 2017 where he owns his own home. He is married to his wonderful wife, Brittney Stresing, a proud active duty member of the U.S. Navy. They have two wonderful children of Filipino-Jamaican heritage, Phoenix Storm and Banner Logan, who both possess limitless potential.

Art was never a stranger to hard work. He worked many jobs from many walks of life. He was the President of the Jacksonville Asian-America Bar Association for many years and has served on many committees with the FL Bar and Jacksonville Bar Association while regularly volunteering throughout the community. He is currently a Division Chief at the Public Defender’s Office in Downtown Jacksonville and has been there for over 11 years zealously defending the rights of the poor and defenseless.

Florida regularly ranks in the bottom ten of the nation in education funding and teacher salaries. A good start is a solid foundation, and nothing is more foundational for a child's success than a good education. I will work tirelessly to give Florida's most treasured resource, its children, the educational resources to become valued citizensHard working Floridians struggle relentlessly to stay above water as a deluge of economic crises created by greedy billionaires and governmental malfeasance pours relentlessly down on them. Regular working people deserve to be in line ahead of the rich and powerful. I will work tirelessly to help them rise above the flood they had no hand in creating.The sacrifices of our honorable veterans and their families deserve our utmost gratitude. The hardships they endure in their unflagging efforts to fulfill their sworn duty to uphold the Constitution and defend America should be rewarded by our state's duty to advocate for their access to resources and benefits. As home to and beneficiary of the presence of multiple military installations, we owe it to them to support our honorable veterans. I come from a family of proud veterans and have an intimate knowledge of their struggles, and I pledge to do everything in my power to help them.
