Campaign websiteDanimus' campaign website stated the following:Reproductive RightsWe need to codify reproductive rights. Since the Dobbs decision, the abortion rate has gone UP, mortality rates for both newborns and women have gone up, and the persecution of women is on the rise.Although the majority of Americans want safe, legal abortion nationwide, a small group of exttremists have pushed this issue through the Supreme Court leaving women in 14 states left with no options. The people understand we need abortion care for every women and I will do my part to make it law.EducationThe national average cost of daycare is $14,000/yr.– Grandy, A. (2024) “Rising cost of childcare services a challenge for working parents”. Census.gov Adjusted for inflation, the cost of a 4-year college education has doubled.– “Trends in College Pricing”, 2005, research.collageboard.org/trends/college-pricingEducation is a building block for success in life. This is an area we’re finding is more of a necessity for us to compete in the world market, and expand opportunities for Americans.Prepare students for the AI job market.Expand public school to include pre-K. Society has changed and we need education and childcare to change with it. This would elected and not mandatory and would have a voucher system for qualifying daycare centers.Create or fund more after-school programs. Especially for children of working parents to reduce babysitting costs and provide at risk kids a place to go.Reverse the 1997 decision to privatize college loans.School loans are interest free. All interest and late fees should be reversed with FULL credit on money paid against the principal.Undergrad education is subsidized up to $20,000. Or loans reduced to that amount.Public universities must divide their budgets between cost of education and their ridiculous spending habits. The cost of tuition have grown due to non-education expansion and increased staff especially with the increase in on-line learning. Any refunds for interest paid on completed education loans are applied as a tax credit amortized over 5 years min on a sliding scale per amount. Government debts including the IRS and child support, fines, etc… are funded first all at once. Includes anyone who has paid off loans originated after 1990. Cap on tax refunds up to $20,000 for undergrad and $50,000 for advanced degrees. INTEREST ONLY.Cap on monthly payments of $199.Immediate discharge of debt if you are permanently disabled.Expanded ability to include in bankruptcy with a priority for those with medical debt (the No 1 reason for bankruptcy).Additional reductions available by application for illness, military service, non profit work, etc…Eliminate limitations on loans to children of wealthy parents who will not pay for schooling.Make associate degrees fully subsidized as well as a variety of certificates and trade schools.Free college to those eager to work in high demand areas like healthcare, social assistance, IT & data, renewable energy and sustainability, construction and skilled trades. transportation and logistics..Look to expand additional free college options in the future, but expanding Federal funding to lower costs across the board for higher education is a must to maintain competitiveness in the global market. The EconomyThirty-two percent of Americans work for less than $15/hr. An additional 35% of hourly workers, 50 Million Americans, make $20 or less. – Bureau of Labor StatisticsIn no state, metropolitan area, or county in the U.S. can a worker earning the federal or the prevailing state or local minimum wage afford a modest two-bedroom rental home at fair market rent by working a standard 40-hour work week. – National Low Income Housing CoalitionLess than 5% of companies make more than $1 million. – Small Business Administration An economy where everyone can succeed…The American economy has failed to provide acceptable growth and living standards for most households. The obstacles to the “American Dream” have increased for working class and middle class Americans so much we are seeing financial disparity like never before. And attached to disparity; we see despair. Since the 1980s, economic policy has served the wealthiest Americans and those with political power. Recent decisions like Citizen’s United serve only to reenforce that gap, leaving many Americans cutting coupons and necessary RX drugs to survive and unable to pay rent after a 40-hour work week. As the rich get richer, those who serve their interests get elected to office time and time again.Corporate welfare and tax cuts are consistently on the rise as Federal policy continues to “defund” everyday Americans. We live in an oligarchy created by this bad economic policy and those in power are using every scare tactic in the book to hold onto this unbalanced power. The majority of subsidies paid for by our tax dollars go to those who are in the upper echelons of business instead of those who need it which goes beyond the obvious benefits and extends to unfair market advantage and monopolization of entire industries under one roof.We don’t have to become “socialist” to fix it. We need to go back to a tax system similar to what we had before that serves everyday Americans, promotes growth and does not reward unchecked greed and power. We need investment in our people and the systems they rely on, trustbusting monopolies and steadfast consumer protections.Any minimum wage increase over $15 should be coupled by a FICA honeymoon for small businesses under one million dollars gross on a sliding scale of net payroll. A tax credit for expanding your workforce year over year and increased investment in grants and small business loans directed to sectors that need growth like sustainable manufacturing and farming, new building materials like hemp blocks (My bill, Hemp! Hemp! Hooray! covers this), plastic recycling and re-use (My bill Pass on Plastic covers this), clean energy production and increased energy efficiency.Universal HealthcareThe #1 cause of bankruptcy in the US is medical bills. -American Bankruptcy InstituteThe #1 request on GoFundMe is help with medical bills. -GoFundMeMore than 45,000 Americans die each year due to lack of health insurance. – Harvard Medical School, 2009Uninsured Americans count for 28 million of us. If you include “underinsured” that number grows to 46 million. The Big Beautiful Bill will add an estimated 10 million uninsured in 2027. – Healthcare Dive, 2026Insurance companies deny 10% – 70% of treatments recommended by your doctor depending on the circumstance. – PhRMA.org, 2026As a double transplant recipient, health care is more than just policy to me; it’s a matter of life and death. I believes that healthcare is a human right that should not have a profit motive and she will fight until every American is covered. In addition, it costs us less. The foundation for this ideal is found in our nation’s guiding principles- life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.A national, single payer program that is patterned after the system in Singapore is my goal for universal healthcare and the majority of Americans now support this idea including republicans. What has held us back from this extremely popular policy in corporate PAC money in Congress. Democrats and Republicans alike are padding health care to protect the monopolies that drive costs up and they limit bargaining power. The system is not built to protect American lives; it is built to protect profits. American healthcare is a standoff controlled by corporations who say, “You’re money or your life”.American tax money through grants and our own NIH, invent 99% of all new medications which we then paten to private companies who then pay for testing, FDA approval, manufacturing and marketing. But they sell to Americans at 3 to 4 times they cost. The vertical market monopoly costs us more and produces lower outcomes. The first thing “We the People” need to do is change the patent laws before we sell to a company and the second thing is to bring bargaining power back to the people. Once a company buys a patent, it spend a lot of money to get it to market. I want these companies to make a decent profit – AS LONG AS THEY’RE NOT KILLING US.Americans do not need health insurance; they need affordable healthCARE. It’s time to cut out the middleman, trust bust monopolies so they can not price fix or pull generics and affordable options (remember what happened to the price of insulin?) and put care decisions back in the hands of doctors who take the Hippocratic oath and know you.Small FarmsFarm bankruptcies surged by 46% in 2025 and are on track to increase substantially in the current year. – The American Farm Bureau, 2026Four major companies process 80-85% of the country’s beef. – Friesla, Washington State Company, n.d.Between 1995-2019 the top 10% of farm subsidy recipients received 78% of the money. – Environmental Working Group (EWG)Eastern Washington’s small farms need a voice in Washington DC. As a young girl, I spent summers and vacations working on my aunt & uncle’s farm and she lived in rural Oklahoma a few years as a teen. I have seen the challenges small farms face firsthand. My dedication to serving the people who farm Eastern Washington and beyond is steadfast in creating innovative solutions that increase access to resources for small farms and cut through Bureaucratic Red Tape to ensure that family-owned businesses have equal access to support and a forward thinking investment in our nation’s food supply.Subsidy policy must prioritize small and sustainable operations. Green and Blue Ammonia Fertilizer needs to funded for regional production all across the nation which will not only reduce toxins, it will keep the price down and create jobs. My bill Hemp! Hemp! Hooray! is designed to produce the multitude of byproducts from hemp including hemp blocks for building affordable, new housing which preserves our forests, creates jobs, and is a sustainable crop-based source for building materials. Grant funding for this type of manufacturing and processing of raw hemp on a regional level is a job creator and a benefit to the environment.Pass on Plastic is another farm-related bill I have written which not reduces single use plastics, creates grants for plastic recycling and re-use businesses and stimulates businesses in wheat straw packaging, wheat bio-plastic or molded fiber packaging using leftover wheat stocks and husks.Diversifying animal livestock and creating regional markets is huge investment in community, health and the environment. We need a “kill floor” (large butchering plant) IN the 5th to cut both transportation costs and eliminate some middlemen from the distribution chain. Not traveling for large distances means money saved, a more secure supply chain which reduces bottlenecks and removes us from the market manipulation of BigAg which pays farmers less and less and is driving the pries up. Eggs and chickens are a great start followed by cattle and sheep and swine. Regional jobs would boom and short haul truckers or rail would aid distribution. The tax base for rural ares would increase filling budget gaps for towns and schools and you would inevitably see other business development. We need to bring back the sustainability projects cancelled by the GOP and create guardrails and limits on billionaires and foreigners buying up our farmland. We also must eliminate redundancy and the multi-agency obstacle course for compliance in both the farming and forestry industries and streamline the process. Not only does this benefit the local economy, it increases food quality and cuts a path to be truly farm-to-table.Veteran CareThere were 6,398 veteran suicides in 2023 which was a decrease of 44 deaths from the year prior. Approximately 61% of veteran suicides were not using VA heath. Veterans suicides represent 14% of all deaths by suicide in US adults, but only make up 6-8% of the US adult population. -Veterans Administration, NIH81.7% of Vets finds the VA’s overall performance is improving or holding steady, but it’s time we fill the gaps in service especially for rural vets who travel an average of 44.4 miles one-way for care. The VA has developed Telehealth, transportation service and mobile medical for it’s rural community, but it’s not enough. VA.gov, 2026 US Veterans have long upheld the proud tradition of “Leave No Man Behind”. We, as Americans, need to stop leaving those who have served behind the second their feet touch American soil. It’s time we put our money where our mouths are when we say, “Thank you for your service!”Although the VA has made great strides in improving mental health care, the current policy is not enough. We often forget to calculate the true cost of war, and tragically our veterans end up paying the price. Beyond the numbers for suicide, there are physical injuries and injuries that cannot be seen. Conditions like PTSD, anxiety and depression can lead to high rates of alcoholism and other substance abuse issues. The rates of homelessness, divorce and domestic violence are also higher than average for vets.Leave No One Behind: Expanding TAP is a bill I have drafted which will expand the current exit program, TAP, for service members before they are discharged to include better and more thorough mental health screening. We cannot expect soldiers who have come home in pain to find services on their own or insult their sacrifice by handing them a pamphlet.Currently, there are too many restrictions on VA care and rural vets have a hard time traveling to the nearest VA. The current restrictions on Community care eligibility are ridiculous full stop, and the system has been abused to block private care even when a vet qualifies. There are discharge discrepancies despite suffering due to service, reproductive and gender affirming bans and restrictions, and worker’s comp and disability restrictions in which VA doctors are not allowed to fill out these form for civil claims forcing people to go to outside medical opinions which takes time and money. Our mission is to protect them as they have protected us. The EnvironmentAccording to Harvard Medical Magazine, 100% of Americans have microplastic in their body. – 2025 Humanity is facing a “triple planetary crisis”: climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. UNFCCC, 2022 In 2021, Washington had more wildfires than the first six months of any year on record since the states’ comprehensive tracking began in 2005. -Washington State Department of Natural Resources. Washington State will have it’s fourth year of drought in 2026. – Dave Upthegrove, Public lands CommissionerEastern Washington is rich in natural beauty. From golden hills, to lakes, to forests. We live in an area that has something for everyone. Human beings have lived off of the land since the beginning of time. Our resources are limited and we need to make sure that they are properly managed and protected for our benefit, our survival, our safety as well as the sustainability and health of our only planet. That’s why we need to protect our environment and preserve the balance of our ecosystems. I am committed to finding solutions that foster investment in our communities, as well as protect our precious natural resources and keep Eastern Washington safe and healthy for future generations.Hemp! Hamp! Hooray! is designed to produce the multitude of byproducts from hemp including hemp blocks for building affordable, new housing which preserves our forests, creates jobs, and is a sustainable crop-based source for building materials. Grant funding for this type of manufacturing and processing of raw hemp on a regional level is a job creator and a benefit to the environment.Pass on Plastic is another farm-related bill I have written which not reduces single use plastics, creates grants for plastic recycling and re-use businesses and stimulates businesses in wheat straw packaging, wheat bio-plastic or molded fiber packaging using leftover wheat stocks and husks.Support a program to produce blue and green ammonia fertilizer on a regional basis, improving the environmental impact, lowering the cost of fertilizer and creating jobs.We need to get serious about rail and other forms of public transport and makes plans in every industry that relies on oil to move away from its use. Transportation is the largest contributor and we start with fleet vehicles owned and operated by the government and provide incentives that have an expiration date that meets market supply to push demand. This must be reinforced with programs to create a network of charging stations unlike prior bills that have been a disappointment. R&D must work to increase efficiency to meet new, higher public standards and we need to research ways to retrofit or decrease output of older vehicles as those that can not afford to buy new will keep old cars on the market until the used market grows to meet demand.— Ann Marie Danimus' campaign website (July 17, 2026)Note: This text is quoted verbatim from the original source. Issues
Reproductive Rights
We ne ed to codify reproductive rights. Since the Dobbs decision, the abortion rate has gone UP, mortality rates for both newborns and women have gone up, and the persecution of women is on the rise. Texas is proposing at the death penalty for women who terminate a pregnancy and women who miscarry are terrified.
Although the majority of Americans want safe, legal abortion nationwide, a small group of exttremists have pushed this issue through the Supreme Court leaving women in 14 states are left with no options.
The people understand we need abortion care for every women and I will do my part to make it law.
Education
Education is a building block for success in life. This is an area we’re finding is more of a necessity for us to compete in the world market, and expand opportunities for Americans.
Expand pre-schools with government funding for free access.
Create or fund more after-school programs. Especially for children of working parents to reduce babysitting costs.

As a double transplant recipient, health care is more than just policy to Ann Marie; it’s a matter of life and death. She believes that healthcare is a human right that should not have a profit motive and she will fight until every American is covered. In addition, it costs us less. This is the foundation upon we reach towards our nation’s guiding principles- life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Ann Marie is a firm believer that abortion is healthcare and women should have complete bodily autonomy. This includes access to the healthcare resources they need for reproductive care. Washington State has set an excellent precedent for viability and Ann Marie would like to see this set as a National standard.
Small Farms
Between 1995-2019 the top 10% of farm subsidy recipients received 78% of the money.
– Environmental Working Group (EWG)
Eastern Washington’s family-owned farms need a voice in Washington DC. As a young girl, Ann Marie spent summers and vacations working on her aunt & uncle’s farm and she lived in rural Oklahoma a few years as a teen. She has seen the challenges small farms face firsthand. Ann Marie is dedicated to listening to the people who feed Eastern Washington to create innovative solutions that increase access to resources for small farms and cut through Bureaucratic Red Tape to ensure that family-owned businesses have equal access to support.
We must eliminate redundancy and the multi-agency obstacle course for compliance in both the farming and forestry industries and streamline the process. Not only does this feed the local economy, it increases food quality and cuts a path to be truly farm-to-table. Ann Marie is gathering a group of local agricultural advisers as she drafts her Small Farm Protection Act.
Veteran Care
There were 6000 or more veteran suicides per year from 2008 to 2017. Veterans consist of 13.5% of all deaths by suicide in US adults but only make up 7.9% of the US adult population.
-Veterans Administration
US Veterans have long upheld the proud tradition of “Leave No Man Behind”. We, as Americans, need to stop leaving those who have served behind the second their feet touch American soil. It’s time we put our money where our mouths are when we say, “Thank you for your service!”
The current policy is not enough. The rates of homelessness, divorce and domestic violence are also higher than average for vets.
Ann Marie is working with an advisory board of mental health practitioners, abuse counselors and speaking to military personnel to draft a new bill she is calling Leave No One Behind which will provide exit programs for service members before they are discharged. We cannot expect soldiers who have come home in pain to find services on their own or insult their sacrifice by handing them a pamphlet. Our mission is to protect them as they have protected us.
The Environment
In 2021, Washington had more wildfires than the first six months of any year on record since the states’ comprehensive tracking began in 2005.
-Washington State Department of Natural Resources.
Eastern Washington is rich in natural beauty. From golden hills, to lakes, to forests, we live in an area that has something for everyone. Human beings have lived off of the land since the beginning of time. Our resources are limited and we need to make sure that they are properly managed and diversified for our benefit, our survival, our safety as well as the sustainability and health of our only planet.
That’s why we need to protect our environment and preserve the balance of our ecosystems. Ann Marie is committed to finding solutions that foster investment in our communities, as well as protect our precious natural resources and keep Eastern Washington safe and healthy for future generations.
Senior Care
Some 39 million Americans, or 13% of the U.S. population, are 65 and older–up from 4% from 1990.
-Pew Research Group
Nearly half (48.0 percent) of the elderly population in the United States is “economically vulnerable,” defined as having an income that is less than two times the supplemental poverty threshold (a poverty line more comprehensive than the traditional federal poverty line).
-Economic policy Institute.
Having lived in a area with a large retirement community for several years and returning home to care for her 80 year-old mother, Ann Marie has a tremendous amount of awareness of the issues elderly Americans face. Protecting private retirements plans, Social Security, Medicare and providing better coverage financially for healthcare as well as affordable assisted living facilities or home care providers are paramount to protecting mature Americans.
Ann Marie is dedicated to making the Golden Years of the American life less of a struggle. Our elders helped to shape and protect us and they deserve dignity and respect in their later years.
