Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am passionate about helping the American people and Alaskans. I want to help improve our state by encouraging development, improving quality of life and doing so sustainably. My focus areas are LNG, Critical Minerals, Mining, Schools Funding and encouraging people to move to Alaska as our state population is declining and on track to be almost eliminated by 2050.
People are needed to work here, and we must build desirable communities in Alaskans to live in and enjoy. We have such a beautiful state and our travel and tourism industry should encourage positive growth.
We need to improve our state and encourage people to see that Alaska has a thriving future. This is something that is currently not happening, and it is time to elect someone with fresh eyes on the challenges we face.
Coming from California, where we faced overdevelopment I stood against, I can work for Alaskans to encourage positive growth with constituents interest in mind. I will encourage direct communication and put your needs first. My goal is to engage everyone in an interactive way online, in person and over the phone.
As a US Senate member Alaskans come first and we want to understand one another to build strong healthy successful communities. Our strategic importance is significant globally, and I intend to work in foreign policy to create beneficial relationships with all nations to provide our citizens export opportunities to generate more success.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
We can develop Alaska responsibly to encourage our own prosperity. We have huge resources here in our state that we can work with to bring new people here so we can fill all the vacant positions in our state. We must build and refurbish housing to provide adequately for employees. Build adequate roads and promote what we have more effectively and reduce heating and electrical costs with an all in approach. We can also grow crops and work more on establishing farms and agriculture throughout our state. Alaska Grown is delicious, and we need to expand this program to meet our food security needs. Many people in the lower 48 have no idea how many jobs we have here, how amazing our produce is and what we can do together. We need to work on the Dalton Highway to improve our ability to have full access and use of our state. In most other states, Americans and tourists can drive from one end to the other of their state. I have a plan to work on helping Alaskans and tourists to have full access and use if it is desirable to constituents. Militarily that also makes sense as roads are required to support ourselves. Imagine an Alaska that you can drive in the summer in your car from Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay and then to Utiavik and then down to Anchorage. We can make this happen as the "haul road" now Dalton Highway only took 50 days to build when the pipeline was constructed, so the new LNG pipeline can help us to achieve the new road construction.I support a full extension of the Alaska Railroad to Alberta, Canada with a connector to the mining districts to assist in the ore haul and also to benefit the transport of US and Canadian goods to the port of Anchorage. Our Canadian partners can help us pay for it as they have a very big interest in having the rail extension themselves to reach our port here to move Canadian fuels, timber and other goods directly from Alaska bypassing Seattle. We can then expand the railroad to the northwest side to the Ambler mining district to assist in the ore haul in addition to putting a road into this very important region.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am passionate about workers rights, housing, an all in approach to fuel, renewables and support LNG sustainably produced with oversight to insure that we can manage and ultimately take advantage of even the waste we produce. I work hard in Foreign Policy & have worked with many nations before. I believe in protecting and advancing American interests internationally and as the next US Senator from Alaska, I intend to work hard to maintain peace and freedom as well as use my diplomatic skills to create new opportunities with our neighboring countries. Travel and tourism sectors are very important to me. I intend to seek funding for our state to promote itself in the lower 48 and internationally, so we can attract the tallent we need.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Response to constituents and care for the communities you serve in your home state. Leadership in understanding the world globally and how it can benefit Americans and constituents.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
I work very hard and try to understand what is going on in our world from leadership roles I have had before.
What legacy would you like to leave?
I would like to leave Alaska much better than I found it with more people happier and our state really friendly and fun with lots of opportunity for both the younger generation we need to develop and encourage and working people to live purpose driven lives towards their success securing their retirements.
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
I worked at Figurine World in Gaithersburg, Maryland as a sales associate when I was 14 years old for about a year and when I was earning them more money by selling more figurines and always adding on as well as closing the store because the 17 year old left early, I asked for a 25 cent raise to $4.25 from $4 per hour and they turned me down. I quit. Within 20 minutes I had a new job earning $5.50 per hour with overtime benefits at MJ Designs, a Michaels store.
