In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am seeking re-election to the House of Representatives to continue the progress we have made. I have the experience and the relationships in the Legislature to continue bringing more resources to our area, and I am not afraid to speak up and fight when it comes to advocating for our District. I have been able to make generational progress on some of the biggest challenges facing our district and the Commonwealth; but that work continues and we need a proven leader who knows how to get real results. I’m energized to continue working for our district and be your voice fighting for all of us - as it’s important that we continue to have experienced, strong leadership in Boston - now more than ever
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
I have been a successful advocate on many issues for my district and constituents, including increased funding for education, special education and school transportation; expanded access to free community college and high-quality, affordable preschool; no cost school meals; child welfare protections, the PROTECT Act, increased programs and support for seniors and veterans, such as the new Veterans Home in Holyoke; senior transportation, expansion of meals on wheels and senior stay-at-home programs. I successfully secured funding for new schools including a new high school in both Wilbraham and East Longmeadow, the new state of the art Senior Center in Wilbraham and senior transportation vans in East Longmeadow and Monson.I will continue to advocate for protecting and expanding the election processes, including support of the Votes Act and advocating for same-day voter registration; expanding access to high-quality, affordable health care; equal protection for all; increased cybersecurity privacy laws and guide rails for Artificial Intelligence usage and protection; privacy laws; and safe, affordable housing for residents.
I will continue to be a strong advocate for West-East Rail, the environment, economic development and jobs.I also believe it is incumbent upon elected officials to be accessible and responsive to the people we serve. It is for this reason that I established, since day one, a full-time local constituent service office in Wilbraham to assist constituents with issues and to help get the answers and services we deserve. I am always available to respond to constituent needs and concerns and to help. Constituent Service is a hallmark of my work.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I remain passionate about protecting peoples rights, healthcare reform and accessibility, the environment and expanding renewable energy, fair and open elections, protecting data privacy and location shields for residents, education, seniors, our veterans and fair and safe housing for all residents.
