Background

Angela Moore was born in Washington, D.C., and she lived in Stonecrest, Georgia as of 2023. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of the District of Columbia in 1991. Moore's career experience includes owning a public relations firm and working as a publicist with My Publicist. She has served on the boards of the YMCA Childcare Academy and DeKalb Regional Youth Detention Center.[1][2][3]

I am a proud Georgia state representative for house district 91 which incorporates parts of DeKalb, Rockdale and Henry counties. Born in Washington, DC, from a proud USA Military family, I am a Mother of 3, Auntie-Mom and a Biology Major from the University of the District of Columbia. I am a business owner of 2 active companies, an award-winning Democratic, and Presidential Lifetime Award Recipient.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Human and civil rights for all persons

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

My Grandmother.

Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?

I am most enthralled by former Al Gores film "an Inconvenient Truth" which tells the story about global warming.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Honesty, decisiveness, compassion and being a team player.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

I am a people person to which my openness and ability to assimilate to many human situations resonates.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Having an open and accessible door policy for every constituents. Being honest and to educate your community. Working across party lines.

What legacy would you like to leave?

One that reflects fairness to all human kind.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

The assassination of MLK, Jr.

In a beauty salon doing manicures and shaping eyebrows.

The Brady Bunch theme song. Please don't ask as even I don't know why :)

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Trying to be in many places at the same time. Thank goodness for Zoom!

What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature?

Working as ONE !

What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?

Access to the ballot box, Discrimination and healthcare.

Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics?

No.

Of course. No party or person is an island. Nothing can ever be accomplished without both sides working together.

The standing committees I serve for the state. These committees most reflect my passions for serving : Higher Education, Creative Arts & Entertainment, Code Revision.

It is important for truth in Government and for our stake holder.
