Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am a 5th Californian who got frustrated with government not listening to the people and making everything partisan. For more than 30 years I’ve worked with families across California as a health professional and clinician. My most valuable skills were learning to listen and problem solve.
In healthcare, when systems stop working together:
•
People suffer.
•
Prevention gets ignored,
•
Problems get worse, and
•
Trust breaks down.
Unfortunately, Washington today suffers from the same kind of dysfunction.
When I work with a patient or a student, I don’t ASK their politics. I don’t care. I just want to know what their problems are and I how I can help find solutions.
My career has been about solving problems before they become crises:
•
Focusing on prevention,
•
Listening to people, and
•
Building practical solutions that actually work.
I’m running for Congress to bring this problem-solving approach back to Washington.
Imagine government like a dam built upstream from healthy families and communities. That dam must be tended to because IF it breaks, it destroys everything good below it. The dam didn't MAKE the families and communities healthy, but it can absolutely destroy them if it is allowed to decay.
Our forefathers stated that we could only maintain a Republic if we worked at it, with "eternal vigilance” and "general knowledge among the people.” We must sharpen our knowledge, reinstate our effort, and reclaim the Republic!
