Meet Angel:
Lifetime of Service - Bringing people together for healthier communities and stronger families.
Angel Oakley is a proven leader, entrepreneur, and community servant with 30+ years of experience across business, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, and education within the 3rd District.
From meager beginnings, Angel learned early the power of perseverance. As the only white student in her first school, she also learned what it means to be a minority, adapt to differences, and find common ground. She has mentored youth, coached robotics, and served as a Village Commissioner, Trustee, and Youth Ambassador in Germany. A wife of 25 years, and mother of three, Angel leads with faith, integrity, courage, and a servant's heart.
It's Broke. Let's Fix It!
We are living through an era of deep national division, driven by a political system that rewards fighting over fixing. As an innovative problem solver and change agent, Angel Oakley is running to disrupt the status quo. She's a strong fiscal conservative concerned about the national debt who leads with active listening and deep understanding before crafting common-sense solutions. She's qualified and ready to work with the Problem Solvers Caucus, a bipartisan effort in Congress.
Angel is running to represent people; Not PACs, corporations, other countries, or special interests. She ran as an independent in 2024 and spent thousands of hours asking questions and listening to constituents.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
A Government That Works. A People United.
Lower the temperature, model honest, civil dialogue, and seek common ground. Angel will join the Problem Solvers Caucus and use technology to make government more efficient, accountable, and responsive.
Get money out of politics! Here’s a historic opportunity to elect someone who’s already modeled it. Angel has accepted $0 from PACs, corporations, or state/federal party committees, unlike her opponent, who has accepted millions since 2022. She will propose the WIEE Act to create a free digital public square connecting candidates with voters and officials with constituents.
Strengthen civic education, citizen engagement, and citizen commissions, giving people a greater voice in their government.Improving Health & Well-Being
Promote healthier, fuller lives through prevention, sound science, greater access to care, and more patient choice.
Protect clean air, water, and soil while modernizing outdated TSCA regulations and strengthening environmental safeguards.
Advance responsible welfare that helps people in need achieve stability and self-sufficiency. Angel will propose the Community Supported Living Act (CSL), a self-funding model designed to provide comprehensive support and a pathway to independence.
Strengthen food security and lower costs by supporting healthy, local food production.Opportunity for All: Revitalizing the Economy & Renewing the American Dream
Lower costs, strengthen small businesses, and expand opportunities for every American. Promote financial literacy and economic independence while removing barriers that hold entrepreneurs and workers back.
Cut unnecessary regulations, reject excessive mandates and taxes, protect pass-through deductions, and give small businesses more freedom to invest, hire, innovate, and grow. Support safe, orderly communities and effective law enforcement, reducing crime, protecting families and workers, and lowering the costs and risks businesses face.
A stronger economy starts with freedom to work, build, invest, and succeed.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Angel has domain knowledge, experience, and policy concepts within each of these areas:
Economic Policy;
Healthcare Policy;
Education Policy;
Environment Policy;
Technology Policy;
Social Welfare Policy;
Foreign Policy;
Agriculture/Food Policy; and
Civic Engagement/Elections Policy.
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?
George Washington was extraordinary and a fellow ginger.
He understood that a Constitution can establish a republic, but its preservation ultimately depends on the character and civic responsibility of its citizens.
What made Washington particularly remarkable was his combination of power, restraint, and foresight:
He won a war → then surrendered military power.
He helped create a government → then became its first president.
He could have sought a third term → he voluntarily left office.
He saw political factions emerging → he warned against a party becoming more important than the country.
He saw regional divisions emerging → he warned they could tear the Union apart.
He saw foreign powers competing for influence → he warned Americans not to become instruments of foreign interests.
Washington understood that political liberty requires more than institutions. It requires civic virtue, responsibility, respect for law, and citizens willing to put the country's long-term interests above any faction.
He understood that national unity was a strategic asset, that prosperity could be squandered without civic responsibility, and that preserving a free republic ultimately depends on the people themselves.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Character is the foundation; integrity earns trust; courage protects principle; humility enables listening; and judgment turns good intentions into responsible action.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
The core responsibility of elected office is to serve the people, uphold the Constitution, solve problems honestly, safeguard their rights and resources, and leave the country stronger for the next generation.
What qualities does the U.S. House of Representatives possess that makes it unique as an institution?
The House belongs to the people. A Representative’s job is to listen closely, represent faithfully, govern responsibly, and remain accountable to the citizens who entrusted them with their vote.
Unlike the Senate, the House provides direct representation based on population. It holds the constitutional power of the purse (including originating revenue bills and shaping federal spending) and the sole power to impeach federal officials.
What do you perceive to be the United States' greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?
America’s greatest challenges over the next decade will be restoring economic opportunity, strengthening social cohesion, managing our national debt, maintaining technological and national-security leadership, and preserving confidence in our democratic institutions.
We need to make it easier for Americans to work, build, raise families, and prosper; improve education and workforce readiness; make healthcare and essential goods more affordable; and address the fiscal pressures that threaten future generations.
We must also navigate rapid advances in AI and technology, protect critical infrastructure and supply chains, compete responsibly with global powers, secure our borders, and maintain a strong national defense.
Above all, we must rebuild trust in one another and in our institutions. A free republic depends not only on strong institutions, but on citizens willing to participate, disagree honestly, respect the rule of law, and put the long-term interests of the country ahead of faction.
Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?
Yes. Principled compromise is essential to effective policymaking. We won't agree on everything, but we can listen, find common ground, and work toward practical solutions that serve the public interest. Compromise should never require abandoning core principles, constitutional rights, or integrity. It should mean finding the best path forward while remaining true to them.
