In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I'm a 34-year-old working father and an eighth-generation Kentuckian running to make life more affordable, protect our public schools, and give working families a stronger voice in Frankfort.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
I believe in a root-cause approach, and the root cause of so much of what's hurting working families is corporate lobbyists running the show in Frankfort. Too many decisions get shaped behind closed doors by people with deep pockets. It's how data centers get handed billions in tax breaks while teachers buy their own classroom supplies, and how SB 199 passed to shield pesticide manufacturers from lawsuits when their products are linked to cancer and they didn't warn Kentuckians. Within a year, we could require real-time disclosure of lobbying, create a searchable public database of who's paying for political ads, make any company asking for state money show exactly what it's getting, and restore our open records laws.Home prices in Shelby County have jumped over 40% in five years while paychecks have barely moved. Our local hospital has been losing millions every year, and more federal Medicaid cuts are still coming. Our schools are being asked to do more with less while state funding stays flat. When I hear my younger siblings say they're putting off a doctor's visit or giving up on buying a house because of the cost, it fires me up. Families here are working so hard and doing everything right and still falling behind. We don't have anything without our health, clean water, healthy food and a community with opportunities to support us. I'll fight to defend medicaid, regulate data centers and remove their tax incentives, restore Kentucky's clean water legislation and programs that capitalize on Kentucky's growing aviation and biofuel industry.
