In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I’m the man in the middle. A conservative, who believes that we can work together to get things done. Balance the budget, Pay down the Deficit, Control Spending, Protect Reproductive Rights, and Lower Taxes.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Conservative spending, using every tax dollar wisely. Reform the tax codes so Billionaires pay their fair share, lower the tax burden on the middle class, balance the budget, pay down the deficit. To continue to be strong, we have to be financially strong as well. It can be done. Intelligent decisions with accountable actions will get us there. We can all disagree, but we must find a way to work together.Reproductive rights must be protected and guaranteed. The choice a woman makes with her body is hers and hers alone. It is up to her, hopefully with input from her doctor, her family, and her loved ones. Not Politicians. Not Insurance Companies. And not Neighbors.

Programs need to be properly funded that can aid a woman if she chooses to keep her baby. Programs that would not just provide basic survival, but create a path for both mother and child to prosper. Nurturing, Nutrition, Education, Daycare, Work assistance, College affordability.

How can we help expecting mothers feel safe in keeping their children? That is the proper way to decrease the fear and need for abortion. Support all mothers and children.Government exists to Protect, not Control.

Protect Everyone’s Basic Freedoms.

The Right to Bear Arms. Gun ownership is protected and guaranteed. However, it can be made safer thru common sense decisions.

Free Speech. A Free country allows everyone a voice, even if it is unpopular, and maybe most particularly when it is unpopular. The right to speak your mind can not be silenced.

Freedom of the Press. Allowing access to public information is a cornerstone of the country. The Press must be free to report the truth and inform the public.

Freedom to assemble. Freedom for workers to form Unions have proven over the years to create a strong working class.

Book burning/banning ideas is wrong.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Lower Taxes for Middle Class, Working Class Protections, Farmer and Agricultural Support, Gun Control/Safety, Reproductive Rights, Mental Health Programs,.

Support Police Officers-Fund, Staff, Train, Equip and increase Pay.

Support Teachers-Fund, Staff, Respect, and increase Pay.

Healthcare Reform

Protect Social Security

Protect Medicare and Medicaid

Protect Retirement Benefits. Need more pensions, less relying on 401k’s

Reduce the overall cost of living for families.

Eliminate personal property tax for $500k or less.

Reduce Insurance costs.

Pass Fair Cost Act, to eliminate company price gouging.

Reduce waste and invest in recycling

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

John F Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr

Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?

The American President is a good story of democracy and political life.

John F Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr are both role models. Listen to their speeches and read what they have said and believed.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Integrity. True leadership is completely about integrity. Doing the Right thing when it may not be popular and when no one is watching.

Transparency is important. Allow who you represent to know what is happening and why.

Leadership. It can be difficult making decisions that impact a large number of people. A leader has to weigh those de jail s carefully and make the choice that will have the most benefit to the majority of the people, not a select few.

Trustworthy. I can not be bought. Political lobbyists and special interest groups will try to influence the vote. The people are always what matter.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

Integrity, selflessness, deep thinker, honest, fair.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Work hard, Research, Represent the people of your district.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

27 years with Walmart

Depends on the individual.

What do you perceive to be the United States' greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?

Deficit, Tax Reform, Healthcare Reform, Defense Rebuild, Public Trust

Do you believe that two years is the right term length for representatives?

For a voting cycle, yes.

What are your thoughts on term limits?

Term limits would force good reps out of their positions. The people have a chance to vote poor reps out every voting cycle. Term limits circumnavigate the will of the people and I believe would do more harm than good.

Is there a particular representative, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after?

John F Kennedy

Both sitting representatives and candidates for office hear many personal stories from the residents of their district. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching, memorable, or impactful?

Working families are struggling now more than ever. Rich continue to get richer. The balance does not exist right now. The political influences of the past has allowed the injustice.

Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?

Compromise is a must. Working together, compromising where it is necessary, has proven to make our country stronger for the last 150 years.

The opposite side isn’t the enemy. Americans may disagree, but they work together to get the job done.

The Constitution says that all bills for raising revenue must originate in the House. What role would this power play in your priorities if elected?

It important to impart due diligence on any bill that is proposed.

Also, if bills need to be created, the hard work of sponsoring and drafting bills must take place.

How should the U.S. House use its investigative powers?

To protect public interests. Not for political gain or grandstanding.

What committees interest you?

I would bring my passion and hard work to any committee that I was honored to be a part of.

What are your views on financial transparency and government accountability?

Transparency is always key. Oversight should be in place to protect public interests.

Government is of the people, by the people, and for the people. Accountability is a must and cutting corners should never be allowed.
