Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
I am the best candidate for the Ohio Supreme Court because we need a justice whose judicial compass is true. I will interpret the Constitution and statutes according to their plain text and original public meaning — faithfully preserving the separation of powers and restoring public confidence in our courts. If elected, I will work to ensure Supreme Court decisions a released as promptly as possible. The Court moves only as fast as its slowest justice, and timely rulings are essential to justice. I also support the creation or improvement of specialized business courts or commercial dockets to resolve complex disputes more efficiently, benefiting Ohio’s economy and litigants.Over the past year, I have traveled extensively across Ohio to listen to everyday folks. I believe in grassroots campaigning, which is why I visited all 88 counties at least once last year.
As a sitting judge, I often speak to community and legal organizations too because I believe I should continue to meet with the public. I have earned support in all 15 of my counties of my district and the formal endorsements of 12 county Republican parties, which is the most of any candidate. I am the only candidate endorsed by both Buckeye Firearms PAC and the Ohio Right to Life PAC. I am prepared to work and win.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Helping the next generation of lawyers. Currently, I am an adjunct professor teaching those future lawyers. I have also participated in law school and pre-law student programs to help them advance into their careers. I was a night student from a non-lawyer family, helping those who had the same challenges is paying it forward.
What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?
Buckeye Firearms PAC, the Ohio Right to Life PAC, and the Ohio Conservatives PAC. The county Republican Parties of Butler, Clermont, Brown, Scioto, Washington, Monroe, Licking, Fairfield, Delaware, Knox, Lake, and Belmont counties, as well as the Conservative Club of Trumbull County. (Most counties do not endorse.) I've been endorsed by a number of leaders including, Congressman Troy Balderson, State Senator Tim Schaffer, and Representatives Brian Stewart, Meredith Craig, Kevin Miller, Thad Claggett, and Brian Lorenz.
