In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Lifelong northwest Illinois resident, small business owner, and proud husband and father. I graduated cum laude from Arizona State University before serving my community on the Freeport City Council and later representing Illinois’ 89th District in the State House from 2018 to 2023. I’ve also been committed to serving others through organizations like Regional Access Mobilization Project (RAMP) and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

I’m honored to represent the people of northwest Illinois in the State Senate, where I’m a strong advocate for conservative, America-First principles. As the only member of the Illinois Freedom Caucus in the Senate, I’ve been recognized by the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) and other conservative organizations, and I am often ranked as the chamber’s most conservative member. My focus remains on defending taxpayers, protecting constitutional freedoms, and fighting for the values of the families and communities I serve.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

The most important message I have as a Republican and conservative in Illinois is simple: our state must do better. Decades of one party Democrat control in the legislature have created a government that taxes too much, spends too much, and delivers too little. Families and businesses are being squeezed by some of the highest taxes in the nation while Springfield continues to find new ways to spend their money. Illinois does not have a revenue problem. It has a spending problem. We need financial discipline, lower taxes, accountable government, and leaders willing to put taxpayers first. I have never voted for a tax increase, and I never will. There is nothing more important to me than protecting your Constitutional Rights. I am a firm believer that the 2nd Amendment protects the 1st, and all others for that matter. Illinois has attacked these rights for years - meanwhile, restricting law-abiding citizens has done nothing to increase public safety. We need to get serious about prosecuting criminals and leave the responsible citizens alone.A biological man is a man. A biological woman is a woman. That is biology, not bigotry. Men do not belong in women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, or sports. We should not abandon basic science, fairness, privacy, and common sense to appease a radical political agenda. Women and girls deserve safe spaces and a level playing field. I will NEVER apologize for standing up for them, and I will NEVER support policies that sacrifice their safety, privacy, or opportunities to satisfy the radical left.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I care deeply about Constitutional issues, as well as lowering taxes and costs, and protecting private spaces. Additionally, I am very interested in agriculture and energy policy, especially as they relate to fighting the green bad deal and protecting farmland and private property from eminent domain.
