Amy Morrin Bello lives in Wethersfield, Connecticut. She earned a high school diploma from South Catholic High School and a bachelor's degree from Providence College. Her career experience includes working as an assistant town clerk and with the Wesleyan University Center for African American Studies.[1][2]

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am serving my third term representing Wethersfield, CT in the 28th House District. I serve as Deputy Majority Leader, Vice Chairperson of the Government Administration and Elections Committee and a member of the Transportation and Public Health Committees.

As a lifelong resident of Wethersfield, I attended elementary and middle school in town before graduating from South Catholic High School and Providence College. I am currently employed at Wesleyan University’s Center for African American Studies. I was employed for ten years as an Assistant Town Clerk and served on the Town Council (2015-2020) and as Mayor of Wethersfield (2017-2019). My husband Rich and I have three daughters. Both sets of parents live in Wethersfield, as well as out siblings.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

I have worked to lower the cost of child care, make

breakfast free for every public school student,

expand the tax-free week to cover more items,

fought to pull hidden charges off your electric bill,

cap the taxable value of cars 20-year-old and more

at $500 to lower the tax, backed a new tax credit

for family caregivers, cracked down on digital ticket

scalping, increase transparency of all-in ticket costs,

and ban surveillance pricing in stores and most

delivery apps.As Vice Chair of the elections committee, Amy is

leading the effort to keep our elections free and fair,

with no-excuse absentee ballots, expanding early

voting, and adding safeguards so every vote counts.I continue to fight for women's healthcare and our LGBTQ+ community to make sure that all residents' needs are met, services are available, and we all feel safe in our state.
