In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am a single mother of 2 adult children. I have a passion for the Human Services, specifically ID/IDD and Autism. I love nature and support finding cleaner sustainable resources for energy.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
I recognize District 64 is thirsty for progress and revitalization, yet feels the need to preserve tradition and a rich history. I believe that can happen through hard work and a united front working toward a common goal.District 64 has economic hardships that can be alleviated through advances in technology, such as updating power lines to support broadband internet throughout the district. This one thing alone will attract businesses to the area. Technology companies are continually growing, having reliable access to internet is an integral part of attracting this type of business to the area.District 64's depressed economy has resulted in a drug epidemic and increase in homelessness. This can be alleviated by instituting programs, shelters, and looking at ways to create affordable housing for residents of the district.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Personally, social service is an area I am passionate about. I would like to see homeless rates decline. More aging and disability services to help the elderly and ID/IDD and autistic communities. LGBTQ equality is important to me. Affordable housing has become hard to obtain in this area, a solution is necessary.
I am passionate about the environment and energy. I would like to see clean energy sources increase throughout the state and my district. Biodegradable plastics become more widespread, if the use of plastic has to exist.
