In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I’m a mom of two adult kids, a Navy veteran, and an industrial sanitation worker. I’ve lived in the Fox Valley for most of my life, and Wisconsin is home. I’m stubborn, sometimes to a fault, and I’m not particularly good at sitting quietly when I think something is wrong. I love history, I’m a bit of a nerd, and I genuinely enjoy talking with people, including people I disagree with.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Show up and represent the district.

Government works better when elected officials actually listen to the people they represent. I believe in showing up, being accessible, answering difficult questions, and putting the needs of the district ahead of party politics.Protect the communities that make this district home.

Our public schools, farms, veterans, working families, roads, emergency services, clean water, and local communities deserve real investment. Decisions about major developments, including data centers, should not be forced onto communities while the people who live there are expected to deal with the consequences.Bring working-class experience to Madison.

I don't just talk about working families. I am one. I work an industrial sanitation job, raised two children as a single mom, and served in the Navy. I know what government decisions look like from the other side of the desk, and I will bring that perspective with me every day in the Legislature.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I’m passionate about protecting local control and making sure communities, not politicians, decide what development is right for them, especially when it affects farmland and water. I care deeply about making life more affordable for working families through better wages, anti-compression protections, affordable child care and access to quality health care. As a Navy veteran, veterans issues are also deeply personal to me, including housing, mental health care and expanding Wisconsin’s veterans property tax credit so more disabled veterans can remain in their homes.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?

Wisconsin State AFL-CIO; District Council of Wisconsin, Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC); Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC); NASW Wisconsin PACE; OB-GYN PAC (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists); Wisconsin State Senator Kristin Dassler-Alfheim; Dr. Kristin Lyerly; Matt Kempainen, U.S. Army veteran; Tiffany Koehler, U.S. Army veteran
