In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Ali Simpson is a candidate for TN House District 32, which represents Roane County and part of Lenoir City. She operates a small organic farm with her family in Ten Mile. As a board member at the Southeast Tennessee Young Farmers, she advocates for sustainable agriculture policy and resources for young and beginning farmers. She began her career in public service through Americorps and helped establish a home weatherization program with Habitat for Humanity. Before farming full-time, she worked with the Small Business Administration to establish programs that provide free education and resources to aspiring entrepreneurs.

Ali's experience in these roles has shown her that this country is abundant with folks who have the grit, drive, and know-how to lift up themselves and their communities. With the right support, like access to affordable health care, a man in her community could start what would become a regional composting business from the back of his pickup truck. With a weatherized home and a lower heating bill, a family she served at Habitat could save a little more for their future. With a small grant, a farmer can produce fresh, healthy food for schools and food banks.

Ali's goals in office are simple: First, to fight for policies that improve the health, freedom and empowerment of the people. Second, to reverse the ongoing and shameless transfer of public wealth to corporations and special interests, and return that wealth to the hands of the people.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
