Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I’m running for Congress because the people of North Carolina’s 12th District deserve safer streets, a more affordable cost of living, and a hopeful future for our children. Too many families feel left behind—priced out of their own communities, worried about crime, and frustrated by politicians who talk but don’t deliver. I believe leadership should be about results, accountability, and putting people first. In Congress, I will make public safety my top priority, fight to lower the cost of living, and champion education and early childhood literacy so every child has a fair shot at success. This campaign is about restoring trust, rebuilding opportunity, and proving that a better 12th District is possible.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Too many families in the 12th District no longer feel safe in their own neighborhoods. Violent crime, repeat offenders, and a lack of coordination have left communities frustrated and unheard. In Congress, public safety will be my top priority. I will launch the first-ever 12th District Congressional Task Force on Crime Reduction, bringing together law enforcement, community leaders, educators, faith organizations, and local officials to focus on real solutions—reducing violent crime, addressing repeat offenders, and supporting prevention strategies that work.
We can support law enforcement, strengthen community trust, and demand accountability at the same time. Safety should never be political. Every family deserves peace of mind.Rising prices are crushing working families, groceries, housing, utilities, healthcare, and gas all cost more, while wages struggle to keep up. Washington’s reckless spending has made everyday life harder for the people who do the work. I will fight to rein in wasteful federal spending, protect taxpayers, and advance policies that lower the cost of living. Families should not have to choose between paying bills and building a future. Affordability means opportunity, stability, and dignity for working people.A safer and more affordable future starts with education. Early childhood literacy is the foundation for lifelong success, yet too many children are being left behind before they ever get a fair start.
I will champion early education and literacy initiatives that empower parents, support teachers, and partner with community organizations. Every child—regardless of background or ZIP code—deserves the tools to read, learn, and succeed.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Safety is deeply personal and rooted in my life experiences. I’ve seen firsthand how unsafe streets can destroy families and erode trust in government. That’s why I’m committed to restoring law and order, so every family in NC-12 can walk their neighborhoods without fear. As a small business owner, I’ve fought rising costs, crushing regulations, and inflation that hits working families hardest. I know what it’s like to pay bills, meet payroll, and worry about the future.

I am a US Army veteran, family man, and small business owner. I was born to a teenage mother and separated from my twin brother in the social service system due to the domestic violence and substance abuse in my family. My campaign is focused on improving educational outcomes for underserved and marginalized students, ensuring we grow upward economic mobility and prioritizing the needs and safety of American citizens first.I believe that Washington isn't working for the best of the American people because we have too many career politicians that are doing the bidding of their political parties. I will always keep the people of this district first and vote for the best interest of this district before the wished of party elites. When elected my fist order of business will be to establish a 12th District Community Task Force aimed at tackling the rising youth crime in this city.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

The core responsibility is to be the strongest advocate for our constituents regardless of affiliation.

What qualities does the U.S. House of Representatives possess that makes it unique as an institution?
I think that our US House is unique because the House has several powers assigned exclusively to it, including the power to initiate revenue bills, impeach federal officials, and elect the President in the case of an Electoral College tie. The House is the only branch of government that American voters have directly elected since its formation in 1789 and that is what makes the opportunity to serve such an honor.
Do you believe that it's beneficial for representatives to have previous experience in government or politics?
No.

Our biggest challenge is going to be the improvement of educational outcomes that will allow us to remain competitive on the world stage.

Yes.

I am in favor of term limits on Congress and have signed the Term Limits Pledge.

Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick for his ability to work across the aisle to best serve the American people and his district.
Both sitting representatives and candidates for office hear many personal stories from the residents of their district. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching, memorable, or impactful?
Whenever I talk with young voters who are afraid they will never truly have the American dream of home ownership and economic security, it strengthens my resolve to run for this office.
Tell us your favorite joke.
George Carlin's routine on " Stuff"
Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?
It is both necessary and desirable if we wish to represent the needs of the people.
