Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I have spent my life serving this community in uniform, in the classroom, and in public office. I come from a working class family and am a fourth-generation Hilltop resident. I graduated from The Ohio State University, U.S. Army War College, and Capital Law School.
I served 29 years in the U.S. Army Reserve JAG Corps, including two combat tours in Afghanistan, retiring as a Colonel. At home, my service has been just as deep: as a union public school teacher and coach, president of the Hilltop Kiwanis Club, board member of Friends of the Hilltop, and board member of First Community Christian Church.
As a former Grandview School Board of Education member and four-term State Representative, I delivered real results: reducing class sizes, expanding special education funding, authoring Ohio's 988 crisis lifeline, securing $140 million for a new mental health hospital, and co-founding Operation Legal Help Ohio, the state's first free, statewide legal assistance program.
I know what this district needs because I've lived it and I've proven I can deliver for it. In a time where experience, trust, and values matter, I am the candidate who can unite working families, suburban voters, and rural communities to win. I'm ready to defeat Mike Carey, take that fight to Washington, and help flip the House. On Day 1, I will be ready to deliver real change for the people of Ohio's 15th.

Economy & Environment:
A 40-year public school teacher and coach, Adam Miller will lower costs for groceries, gas, utility bills, health insurance and medication.
Congress must require fair wages. For hard-working Ohioans, better pay makes stronger families and neighborhoods. We will support our working families with strong labor unions and funding for job re-training. The billionaire class is growing richer by eliminating jobs, and they must help pay to retrain workers and support a society increasingly run by robots.
These goals cannot come at the expense of our environment. Corporations must pay their fair share for the the power and water to operate data centers and the pollution released in towns, fields and neighborhoods.Mental Health and Wellness –
The mental health of the residents of Ohio and the United States is top priority to Adam Miller. As a retired Army colonel with 30 years of service, a high school teacher, coach and father, Adam sees the struggles of decent, hard-working Americans who support family members with depression, anxiety, disabilities and mental illness. The system kicks families from one provider to the next, leaving people falling through the cracks, and families staggering under the burden. We deserve a strong safety net. By supporting people step-by-step from crisis to a full recovery, we save lives AND free families from the weight of caregiving, allowing them to contribute again to their jobs and communities.Strong Society: Supporting Youth, Veterans, Seniors
As an Army veteran and father, Adam Miller believes we have a strong America when our young people, veterans and senior citizens are supported with honor and dignity.
Our veterans and seniors have worked hard and given their lives to our country and their families, and we have a duty to treat them with dignity and care, not cuts in funding, confusing rules and red tape.
Our youth crave a pathway to self-esteem and responsibility despite the loss of many traditions that have led our children into adulthood. With his decades of experience as a coach and father, Adam Miller understands the challenges and sees service as an elected Representative as a pathway to support our young people.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Adam’s life story has given him the insight and understanding to fight for every American. A son of divorce, who grew up with the love and compassion of a single parent, he understands the struggles so many families face. Like many Americans, Adam’s own life has been touched by mental health and addiction. He lost a brother, who fought a lifelong battle with addiction. When he says he wants to end the mental health and addiction crisis, it is not just a campaign slogan, it’s a personal calling to serve.Adam has the professional experience to get the job done. Whether it is fighting for reproductive rights, working on legislation to improve the lives of working Ohioans, assisting veterans and returning service members, or serving his country in uniform, Adam has the experience to be an effective legislator and leader for the people of the 15th district.Adam will work to end the discord and dysfunction in the US House of Representatives. As a state representative, he has introduced more bipartisan legislation than any other member of the Ohio House.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Protecting a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions remains a top priority.
Working to end mental health and addiction crisis in our country requires a New Deal like effort that will help alleviate the problem at every level. We have to treat this crisis as a national security issue.
Restoring faith in government means we stop pitting Americans against each other for political gain and we put our country over party. From protecting social security to investing in jobs and infrastructure to ensuring our men and women in uniform have the resources they need; Congress has to start passing its funding bills on time and stop the destructive gamesmanship that only ends up hurting everyone.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
Being a good listener. Members of Congress should take the time and listen and truly understand the people they serve.
The Constitution says that all bills for raising revenue must originate in the House. What role would this power play in your priorities if elected?
Budgets are moral documents and our taxing and spending policies should focus on raising up all Americans.
Campaign website
Miller’s campaign website stated the following:
Helping Our Veterans-
Ohio has one of the largest populations of living military veterans in the United States. With almost 900,000 living Ohio veterans, we need to do more for our Veterans and their families. After returning from military service in Afghanistan, I worked with community stakeholders to help start a statewide free legal service for Ohio Veterans. We need to expand programs for homeless vets and provide greater treatment options for young vets struggling with PTSD and traumatic brain injuries. To improve veteran’s services, County Veterans Service commissions (created by state law) should be expanded to include a military spouse, a National Guard/Reserve member, and a post 9/11 veteran. The Ohio Veterans Homes across the State should be expanded and should be permitted to accept patients dealing with post traumatic health issues. As a fourth generation, Hilltop USA native it is a tremendous honor & privilege to be a candidate to represent such a resilient and hard working community.
Jobs And The Economy-
We need to restore incentives for labor-management innovative business partnerships, while leveraging local non profits/foundations, career centers, school districts, community colleges and State University programs (including R & D, technology) to attract and retain small business start ups, local entrepreneurs, farmers, shop keepers and manufacturers capable of sustaining and growing their businesses.
Education-
We need more State resources targeted to education and job training. For education, early childhood reading and after school latchkey programs will really help parents struggling to make ends meet and their kids. The State Legislature can do more to help community centers, libraries and school principals/elementary school PTOs obtain state and federal grant dollars to hire the teachers, paraprofessionals and obtain the facilities and technology to support these impactful programs. For jobs, real world, on the job experience must be factored into employment eligibility. A person who has served in the National Guard, Reserve or on Active Military Duty and earned a military job specialty should get credit for those skills. They should be able to enter the civilian work force immediately, without having to cut through red tape and bureaucratic obstacles. By enabling pathways to good jobs and through expanded access to impactful education programs, we will meet this challenge.
Healthcare
Access to affordable healthcare should be a right, not a privilege. Unfortunately, that is not the case.[7]
