Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
Writing biographies has never been a talent of mine. How do you sum up a human life? So much left off the page. But here goes. I am long-time Covington resident with deep family ties to West Tennessee. I live four miles from where my grandparents lived and worked the cotton fields. You'd have to ask my cousin about the family history past that, he's the expert. He literally wrote the book.
At home with me are my wife and two youngest children. I am doctoral candidate at the University of Memphis where I have been studying American Literature focusing heavily on critical theory, philosophy of power and hegemony, and the psychology of the unconscious. And I work with children with autism, providing ABA therapy.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
We must limit the ability of money to purchase power in Congress. To move this nation towards a less corrupt Congress, I propose:
funding elections with public money (as long as private money is allowed to flow through politics, the golden rule will remain, "He who has the gold makes the rule")
ending the practice of insider trading for all members of Congress, and
establishing twelve-year term limits.Accountability for all:
We must seek justice in the Epstein cases. There must be a reckoning for these crimes. If there is no justice in this, there is no justice.
All Congress members should be required to write a formal defense/justification for each of their votes which will remain on file and accessible to the public.
We need third-party investigations into all matters of departmental misconduct and stricter punishments for all crimes committed by authority figures.A Human Future for a Human America:
We need firm boundaries and restrictions on every aspect of artificial intelligence, not limited to:
AI powered surveillance of citizens
locations for data centers
resources allocated to data centers
the type and extent of data allowed to be collected
AI in the work place (enhancement not replacement)
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am passionate about advocating individual liberty while upholding personal and social responsibility. There can be no individual liberty without social responsibility. Make no mistake, we do owe each other something: honesty, felicity, charity, and hope.
And it is time to bring the corporations and billionaires to heel. We hold the power. It's time we remind them.
